Power Rankings
The power rankings return this week. It seems to me that everyone in this league really underestimates themselves a lot. The rankings are meant to reflect a combination of the overall record and last week record. The metric I use is 80% overall 20% last week, the number the at end of each team is the base line score.
1. Jungle Fever, the Fever keep on winning and remain number 1. .927
2. Pittsburgh Pressure, two wins for the Pressure against Rebellion and Sloths. We look forward to a potential finals preview tonight against Green Gremlins. .927
3. Green Gremlins, wins against Boom is Art and SM Lizards make the Gremlins back on track. And with Dragojevic back in the lineup the game at Pittsburgh looks to thrilling. .927
4. Souljas, the souljas are here and hopefully to stay. They beat the Boilers25 and Lion Rebels this week and look forward to the matchup at Jungle Fever. .708
5. Beachlife, A win vs Retired but beaten by West Side Tigers this week .681
6. Boom is Art, a good week for Boom is Art going 1-1 beating the Sloths but losing to Green Gremlins .681
7. Galloping Sloths, Yakoska you might you are overrated still but listen to this you are second place in your Conference and have the 6th best overall record, you deserve to be in the top half. .581
8. West Side Tigers, a loss to Jungle Fever but a victory over Beachlife makes a good week .464
9. SM Lizards, back to back wins for SM Lizards all be it against Retired and Red Bull Lakers .564
10. Illiniwek, two losses for Illiniwek to Boilers25 and Jungle Fever .464
11. Boilers25, a victory over Illiniwek but a loss to the Souljas .391
12. Lion Rebels, a victory over Righteous Rebellion allows the rebels to jump the Rebellion .245
13. Righteous Rebellion, two losses this week, one a blowout loss to Pittsburgh, the other a close one to the Rebels .218
14. Monkeykid, a loss to Red Bull and Gremlins drop you to 14. .145
15. Retired, losses to SM and Beachlife both close games keep you at 15. .145
16. Red Bull Lakers, you finally won a game but that is not enough to move you from the cellar. .172

What a night in the league, 7 out 8 Great 8 teams won, a nominee for upset of the year occurred, and 15 of out the 16 spots in the new rankings changed already.

Only an upset because we were ranked too highly to begin with.... :)

Edit> And now, not even the upset of the week.

I'll be bringing the post-game reports back after the all-star break.

My boy Spicci has been the #1 Rebounder in all of D.3 the past two seasons, and still gets no all-star appearance. smh.

Nurek isn't even a regular starter on my team (Though do to injuries, we did play more 3 big man sets than usual so far this year) and got more votes than my starters... Shrug. Who understands these things.

Edit> But I will take the rather surprising 3pt contest win... wow.

Double edit> I say surprising, because Jump Range: prolific..... is not what I call a 3 pt shooting rating

I mean, Spicci is special when it comes to rebounding, but his rating compared to the other two dudes who ended up as starters for your league at PF/C are clearly better all around players. He may get into your hall of fame, but being the top defensive rebounding in DIII doesn't scream all star. (But also, if he was my player I'd have the same gripe!

I'm not saying he's Hakeem Olajuwon, I'm just questioning how this works. Usually in the NBA, the top rebounder is highly recognized even if they only score 15pts per game.
No biggie though. He's my teams staple for now, but I'm in a reconstructive phase so we'll see what happens.

Oh for sure - I too question how it works. I was surprised my bigs made the all star game.
