My comment wasn't directed at you specifically, I was just using you're recent purchase as way of addressing an issue I've been meaning to. When I was saying the frontcourt/backcourt thing that was directed at the Wildboys. Anyway I'm not saying DON'T spend big, I'm saying do it wisely. The purchase of half a million on that SF was just not worth it from a strictly financial view point. As far as franchise success that's a different story and the purchase itself can be justified any number of ways, I'm talking STRICTLY financial right now and from a STRICTLY financial POV I know for a fact that you could have payed the same money and come out with either three of the same skilled players, or a couple younger guys with higher potential. You're Small forward could've been purchased for around 250,000-300,000, you might have even found him for less than 200k if you're searching at the right time, you could have spent that money on a player that would not only over instant contention but also future contention. I don't really know what you're talking about in this gamble thing. I'm not failing to realize anything about this simulation, how many seats you're arena sells is determined by your teams success not how well they play or how exciting the games are, fans care about winning period, unless the majority of your seats are luxury boxes and court side seats. So this doesn't really look like a gamble to me at all as you could've spent less money and still gotten a winning combination. Yeah he might push your team into the winners circle, heck he could make you guys the strongest team in the league right now for all I know, all am saying is that you could've spent half a million dollars a lot better and I'm not making that a personal attack against you, I'm just throwing out some advice to the other managers in the league. I mean by the end of the day spend whatever you need to make your team competitive, just be aware of when you can get a better deal and what a player is really worth.

Advice is good, and my plan is to win the conference so if Syracuse is willing to give it up... I'll take it. I really need about another season to get my guys up to where I feel we can be really a force. I don't understand JMac why you would spend $500K to not win? you could have kept the team you had and done just the same.

I'm definitely not calling you out or questioning your decision making but I don't know anyone who spends that big, this late in the season... if they're not trying to go all the way.

Jinx...it's called a future investment. and Neo how could you say such a thing when you have no clue how skilled my SF is?

I can get a rough estimate from the DMI index and the players salary. Don't need to know his specific skill sets to know how good he is. I'm not saying he's bad, far from it! I'm just saying he's just not worth that money unless he was maybe a couple years younger and you had a high level trainer. The best training years are 18-22. But if you don't believe me this might put it in perspective, http://www.buzzerbeater.com/team/31913/overview.aspx this guy is one of my good friends, got promoted a couple seasons back, looks like he's been consistently finishing mid table every season since then. A SF of around the same age and salary earning as your guy would be a role player in this league. Which would make more sense, spend half a mill on a roleplayer in a mediocre league or get two role players of slightly less value with the same money that would give your team more depth? Again I'm not picking on you, it's just while we were on the subject of overpriced guys I thought I'd bring up a trend that I've been seeing for the last couple seasons. It's just something that needs to be said, I've already run into EIGHT players picking up this game that spend their starting 300k or whatever on one or two players that just aren't worth it because they don't know how the game works, their salary ends up eating away at their income, they spend the rest of the season having to develop their franchise with only and income of like 5k a week while their washed up players aren't performing, get tired of losing and quit the game thinking it's stupid.

I understand what you are saying, totally, but I have bigs that can produce. They may not score as much but having both of them averaging just over 12 rebounds a game is very good. I am, though, looking for a C that can give me more, and if any of you have any options, don't be afraid to help me out. I will do the same in return.

I was feeling pretty good about this game, despite not having our starting SG (Donny Hardman) who's been out for over a week and a half now. Unfortunately The Trees are a really good team that has had our number for years now, it also didn't help that we lost our starting Center in the first quarter either. It is really unfortunate that we're losing players coming down the stretch.

The Trees have a great coach and a great team, it also helps when you're playing at home. We'll bounce back but this one stings as well as the Lighting game. We'll rebound and get through this hopefully. This was a tough game throughout and the better team won.

I knew this conference was very physical and so far we have lost 2 starters in inter-conference play. Antoine Moreau was forced into the lineup and played well against a good team. We'll continue his growth going forward and hopefully he's that KEY piece we need to contend year end and year out.

We are now headed back to our home to take on the LA Triads, hopefully we can rebound from this loss and put another win on the board. The game will be winnable we just have to execute. We have the capability to make it happen because nobody can play "Above the Rim".
