1) As you are only being argueing against the first systme suggested and ignoring the second, I'll repeat it;
"Reset all team's assets every few seasons."
Great. Let's destroy all semblance of long term planning and make this an instant gratification game instead because we somehow want the newer users to compete quickly.
No, it does not destroy it.
The teams that started on those early seasons are at the same state - no change on seats, etc.
Even a marathon ends after 42 KMs, and a new one starts afterwards.
You will bother doing the same, as it doesn't mean that it will be reset each seasons.
Let's say that teams on DIV-I does not bother of training players from scratch.
They are no longer planing which seats to built, when, and on what expense.
This points that the marathos had long ago ended.
We are saying the good newer teams eventually get to the top, a check of my local league will tell you that it happens. All it takes is time and planning, elements that a lot of people do not possess.
I already gave two examples of leagues that I have checked.
I'm not going to take a look on another.
What you are basicaly suggesting is to play monopoly after one side already has the all city in his hands. And for several seasons.
What is the fun in that?
How is it competative?
