Train those young players first. Forget everything else! Think about it, some seasons down the road they're either gonna be the one you're building your team around with -- in the way that's best for your team -- or players you can profit from (selling). Side by side with a training program, you slowly upgrade your arena. Few seasons later, you will (whether you like it or not), not only promote (if you haven't) a tier but be competitive enough for USA DIV.

THX!!!! A ton for the advice. NOW i have a more confusing situation on my hands when one fella tells me that they're really not worth training b/c of they're salary. This McCledon guy for me just cant seem to get into any kind of basketball zone..cant shoot, cant play d...he is a 6-10 guard and was originally gonna train him for a PF or C position and got nothing all last season.

If you consider a base trainee has 4k wage then 23 isn't considered young for training purposes. If the 23 year old has 20k+ salary then they may be worth training. Also be careful not to overvalue potential. A 19 year old 4k star is a lot better trainee then a 23 year old 4k MVP.

I don't think you should waste time on any of those players. As suggested earlier can you find a good trainee for a small sum.

I could not even get $1000 for my rather poor draft pick, still I would much rather train him then your candidates. And I am surely not advising you to buy my player. My point is only that you can for very small money buy something better to train. Your 24 year old players can surely benefit from the training he already has god so no reason to kick him out or sell him in my opinion but you train im too slowly to be worth it and he also has too poor rebounding for inside training and too poor jump range to be guard or small forward.

My player just an illustrative example on a player that in my opinion is better but still not someone I recommend you to train as you can find better players for a cheap sum.

Well..Im trying to understand the whole training thing as I havent really done it since I started playing this. I basically thought if you had a Star or above potential player at a young age and depending on his size and position..he will have pops. I guess Iv been wrong there. I try to buy star potential and up like MVP's. BUT, i did give up on a starter potential trainee last season and was told he wouldnt last in a more competitive league. AND he was awesome for me. I guess i need look more into TRAINING manuel as well to get a grasp at training. Thanks.

It is not a big difference in training efficiency between an 18 and 19 year old but in the long run will that difference still make a big difference. If you compare with even older players it will be an even bigger difference in the long term.

If you keep training your 23 year old player he will surely be better than a cheap draftee for the coming 3 seasons or so but after that his advantage right now will be upbeaten and he will not really improve at all despite some low skills.

Your other players has ok skills for training but thing is that you can always get a similar 18 year old player for basically no money so why train an older player then? My player that I posted was at most marginally worse than your own players but as they were older it should be more propriate to train my player. I will soon kick my player as he got no bids for 1000. You will certainly get better players than mine for small money so you can opt for better than him.
