Should I slot 5/3 18 y/o players over star rating 5, non scouted players or should I take the chance on one of the latter?

Thanks.

Take the 5/3.

Reasons:
1. You are in div 4 and won't be able to train him up too much as you won't be able to afford it and so it doesn't matter if his potential isn't high, and a potential of 3 is still pretty good.
2. This player is 18, and will train fast, the 5 star rating unscouted players might have a higher potential, but the chance of them having a higher potential AND being 18 isn't much.

Pick the 5/3 player, train him up, and by the time he hits his cap you will have a very good player and you will have more draftees to train.

Can I get your opinions on who I should take? I didn't have anyone above 3 ball potential, so its kinda a crapshoot.

Both have 4 ball ratings:
Min. FG 3FG FT Pts. Reb. Ass. Stl. Blk. TO PF
SG 29 15-18 1-4 1-8 32 1 2 1 0 2 1
PF 33 20-22 1-3 6-6 47 2 2 2 3 4 2

I'm really thinking of going with the PF just because I've been training my bigs I have now, and think I'd like continue with them. Thanks, guys

I'm guessing you mean they are both 4 ball, unknown potential in that case just take the guy in the position u would use. So take the PF.

Ahh yeah that makes sense when i reread his post. In that case i agree i would put the 5 star, unknowns ahead as well.

the box scores are pretty useless.

Do you know their age?
im assuming that they are both 4/3
If you know the age, the the younger of the 2, if there is an 18 year old.
He will sell for more and be a quicker trainee.

If they are the same in everything but position, then choose whichever position you prefer or need a good player in.

Depending on the ratings you may not even see the difference between the two at the beginning....

I disagree you may not even see a difference in the players at the beginning, while you will see a difference in their potential and the potential will make him attractive. Another reason to take one over the other is that one is a PG vs a SG but for a Div IV team that should be irrelevant.
