I think his problem in these olympics is he is trying to do too much. Like without Bogut there he has it in his head that because he is the only NBA player on the Boomers roster he has to be the man 75% of the time down the court. This is the complete opposite of his game and even when playing with the Gails he did not play this way even though he was clearly the best player on the team. I think if he went back to playing a more old school PG and let the shots come to him a little more rather than pushing it all the time both he and the boomers will look and play much better.

Completely agreed, how long is Bogut out for? I was expecting him to play these olympics...

he is most of the way through rehab but would have missed all the lead-up games and then only maybe would have been ready, so he pulled the pin early. He should be 100% ready for NBA training camp.

good win for my pick Russia over Spain today!

that's very impressive and even more when considering Shved was shut down and Kirilenko locked down, too

But for your PG to only have 2 assists in a game against GB, that is still a worry. I actually saw him play for the Melbourne Tigers a couple of times and he was close to unguardable in the NBL with his quickness. He did also have the good no fear attitude you want from a PG to take the big shot when it is there. But for a super quick PG you want to see those spectacular assists that lead to the highlight reel dunks and he just doesn't seem to make enough of those passes.

But if you watch any Matty Milly Highlight reel like this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iH7nC64xYyMwhat do you see? Lots of breaking down people with speed getting to the basket and lots of making shots he probably shouldn't have taken. He is a PG. Count the spectacular assists? To him many, from him just two. As for the highlight defensive plays, steals, charges, blocks, nah none.

Mills is a very solid defender and is quite serviceable slowing down PGs in the NBA. He is pretty dogged about it and puts in effort, which is nice to see.

I can't remember the name of the other guard we had in the brazil game but he was terrible (well, he looked it), not being able to keep up with Brazil's (granted, world class) pg. In fact, if I remember correctly, the last play they swapped Mills on to him...

That also says to me the coach is deliberately trying to keep Mills fresh for offense? Or maybe he had foul trouble, I don't know.

I think in the last Olympics Coach K (or maybe it was an assistant) actually said some very nice things about Mills and his defense, saying he could be very, very good at it and could carve a nice role around it in the NBA.

Enough to get any court time.

He played okay for the blacers off the bench.

As I said I have seen him play in the NBL and he was awesome, but in NBA I have only sen him play against scrubs in garbage time when few play defence and everyone is trying to grab a stat or two.

He playing more of the 2 guard for Australia with delladova playing the pg and most set plays such as pick and roles and usually is the one that sets mulls up with his jumpers from what I've seen.

Dellavadova is a young and blossoming star who currently plays in College over in america . He is a great 3 pt shooter, play maker and from what I see, a great defender. I heard he hasn't even played his last season with St.Mary's (think that's his college) and he already is the all time leader in assists. Dellavadova is a very bright player and is one of my favourites Aussies. GO DELLAVADOVA!!
