Age? Height? Potential?
I would train One on One and passing for a while to get them a lot higher.
Some free throw training would also be helpful.

Sorry, he's 18, 6"2 and perennial all-star potential.

I would train One on One and Passing until passing is on proficient.
Then I would train OD and Jumpshot until OD is on sensational.
Then see what the skills of your player are and go from there.

I wouldn't worry about the One on One just yet. You'll have plenty of time for that later and you'll get some secondary pops in handling and driving from your other training.

If you want him to be a SG, i'd focus on OD and JR for next season. Just get another couple of pops to prominent JR and then go hard on OD for the rest of next season then we'll see how he's going.

Train FT shooting in the off season so he'll at least be able to compete with Shaq at the FT line :P

Ye i agree with Dire-wolf, training OD takes agggges and if you are looking to make him a SG both JR and OD are important, if you want him to be a PG then OD is still important but you'd need more passing.

I'd have to say though because he's 18 i would suggest sticking to things like JS/JR.OD shooting, but it also depends on who else you are training at that moment, dont neglect the fact that he is your player and you should be looking to slot him in somewhere useful so ye.

As a G trainer that has done it from day one i can't stress the importance of passing and D enough. Good passing on your G's both PG and SG makes your whole team better and in my opinion D is the most neglected skill in the lower levels of BB. As papag said keep the needs of your own team in mind but remember a good skilled player in strong/proficient game shape will benefit you just as much as the U21 or NT!

Ok, the season is drawing to a close, with just a scrimmage or two to go.

I feel like we've had a reasonably sucessful campaign, all things considered. I really wanted to make the world cup at the start of the season - however seeing the two teams that qualified from the asian conference (China and the Phillipines) making the semi finals, makes me realise just how difficult that goal was. Along with the group of death in the repacharge, and we were always pushing s*** uphill. In the end, we were so close to making the world cup through both the Asian conference and the repa, but just fell short. That's the way it goes I guess.

I'd like to thank all those people who helped out during the campaign. In particular, iwen and aussie for helping out with the 18/19yos, the people who trained up the Aussie talent to make the team (and those that just missed out) and those that contributed to the discussions on the offsite forum. I would like to encourage people to join the offsite forums at (http://forum.buzzerbeaterstats.com) - much of the match discussion goes on there (for both U21s and NT), and we have a help section now dedicated to helping out new managers. All aussie managers are welcome.

Anyway, I feel like we have a great group of young guns coming through, perhaps one of our best yet. I'm unsure of whether I'll run again (or whether I'd even get back in if I did), but I think the team is in great shape, and regardless of what happens, the team is in fine shape to make another attempt at a world cup berth.

just aflter some feedback on what to do with this bloke and if he will eventually be good enough for u21 nt has popped 11 times this season and came with a message saying he had national potential have been trying to get his passing to pop using one on one training is there a better way

Well for a start, one on one doesn't train passing, so you can scrap that idea.

He's pretty good, his secondaries are nice (except the passing), so I'd suggest smashing the inside skills till he's 20, triple sensational if possible.

After that, work on passing and jump shot by training him as a guard. This will keep his salary down, and make him a very well rounded player.

Maybe when he turns 21 again you can polish off the big man skills, triple wondrous (IS, ID, RB), then go back to guard skills before he caps.

Only all star potential but great starting skills. Probably get the most out of him if you go the SF route but a little outside shooting and then plenty of OD is always a good place to start.
