There are so many schools of thought here. Especially with your team... It's not a foregone conclusion that you can't win a championship, and wins rake in more ticket sales and season ticket sales, for this season and the next. Also, in the NBA, there is no relegation. Depending on the state of your team, a relegation can spell disaster. I know if my team got relegated, I would be sooooo screwed. I would have to sell about 10 players and buy 10 more. The only players I would probably keep are my trainees. And maybe stapleton.

Oh yeah, no doubt. If you can't win a championship,it's all about making plans to win one. If we look at the goal of playing bb as 3 fold (win the national tournament, win the nbba championship, and win the b3), then taking steps in that direction are the only moves that make any sense. And I've always described this game as an accounting game with basketball and rpg elements. It's all about the greenbacks.

I once found a team deliberately tanking in DV. No risk of relegating further and just keeping the minimum numbet of players and training those 3-4 players for several seasons. I wish I could remember who they were and how that worked out long term. I dont advocate tanking generally but if you're not aversely impacting the game or other human players it is an interesting strategy.

I always enjoy your write ups. Its funny because i find myself doing write ups also so its good to read someone else's thoughts on players, power rankings, etc. So it keeps the league interesting and fun. I will say there is a player that is challenging Tommy for MVP on my team... but he's only played in 3 league games so he's not qualifying to show up on the leauge leader boards... But you SHOULD LOOK AT Everett White. He's averaging 22.7PPG & 16.7 Rebs shooting 62% FG. he just doesn't show up yet. because you need 4 games min he would be second in the league in rebounds right now if he qualified.

If you ask me, tanking should be situational. There are absolutely times I can see where it'd be advantageous. I can see where, a team sells out one season trying to win a championship, and after the season, they're left with very little cash and very old players. If you find yourself in a situation in which you'd probably be relegated even if you tried really hard, why not just scout 40k/wk and fire sale and get a couple, 3 trainees and a bunch of cheap scrubs and a badass trainer and relegate all the way to d5? By the time you made it back to d3, you'd likely have a bigger arena, better staff and more cash and a younger core.
