I would invest $100000 in 500 bleacher seats as soon as possible. The thing about your arena is that it is an investment that will never lose its value. Players get old, Staff get too expensive and fired, but once those seats are there, they are there for good. You gotta spend money to make more money. This also helps because when many managers have extra cash they manage to spend it quite frivolously.

That being said. I do believe you should get some trainees as well. Trainees are a good way to get make good players for your team or be sold off for a decent amount of money. I would wait until the end of this season when a new set of draftees come out. That way you can get some fresh 18 year olds (Perhaps you might even draft one). Since you are new to the game, I wouldn't recommend spending alot in a trainee. This game can be complicating at times, and training is perhaps one of the most complicating/frustrating things to understand sometimes. What you should aim to look for is some 18 year olds with starter-star-allstar potential that also has decent skills. (whatever you can get for pretty cheap) Guys with these potentials should be able to be purchased for around $10,000.

Many new owners pay lots of money on high potential players and then do not train then properly and end up wasting all the money they spend on the player. By buying these lower potential trainees, you can get experience in how to properly train players. And if you did't do it exactly right, at least you did not waste alot of money on them. When I first started BB I started training a star and starter and believe or not a 6th man (wouldn't really recommend the 6th man though), all for which I purchased for under $10,000, and they turned out to be good little players for me. And when I was ready to train new players a sold them for a decent profit.

ok I see your point here then.......so when he understands the training psrt wait till S22then get some stud triainees? believe it or not don't startss cap at their rookie or 19 yr old season? I think so, the the star is lie 19 yo......anyways If I end up with a sh*** draft Ima go out there and get another C to train with Coleman/Delong...with decent OD and PA, along with 3+ HA then have his main skills at a 7/6/5/idk. but wellI'm going for p..allstars which are pretty cheap on the TL they go for under 25k after drafts...hahaha hey you wondered how I got Delong? I was just wandering the TL and found him and said , you gotta be kidding me, SS potential that low! And I got him for 50k, where most superstars go for 100-200k that was a steal for ages......oh well once he's done training he could them on his squad as starters while then getting trainees of the vice versa position, (ie. Guard counter it = Big or vice versa) etc, etc then the rest is up to guide'

Perhaps only crappy trained bigs with starter potential would cap after just a couple seasons of training. But even so, a capped starter potential player would be great in D5, good in D4, and have a important role to play in D3. I mean, I have a capped 6th man potential guy on my team who started for my team in D4 and first D3 season.

I might recommend star potential as the lower end, given that there are many effective (both cost and performance wise) builds that can be fit into star potential. But a starter potential guy with great initial skills could probably be ok too. Better to learn about training on a player you buy for cheap, than to spend a huge amount of cash on a high potential trainee with crap skills, who will never amount to anything.

This, to the nth power. If you can get higher potential cheaply (especially via the draft), by all means do so, but new teams money should be put into the arena whenever possible.

Completely agree with all things said. Arena, arena, arena. If you are going to spend more than 100k on a player it should be on one of those near complete 6th man, starter, star type of players that isn't older than 26 and fits what you want to do. I would hold on to that cash right now (whatever you build can't be counted on to be built for this season anyway) and look for some mid 20s guys that have been trained up that will be affordable (less than 20k imo). If you can't then invest in the arena and keep looking and in whatever you do Build For Tomorrow.

Now that I see the size of his arena, I agree. If possible, I would also expand the lower tier by 100-200, as the lower tier's attendance at hone games aren't as affected as bleachers.
