To the best of my knowledge it is true. If it is not "officially" true, I know of very few long time managers that bother with the draft after Div III at the latest. When is the last time that anybody saw a really good draft pick here?

but in all seriousness, we're going to win.

My club has a "since existence" net profit on the draft. I don't know what 'really good' means, but most drafts have 1-3 players worthy selling for over 100k. Most draftees that could sell for 1k will sell for 100x or more of that with just a few weeks of 1 pos training to pop a few stats. I think if one wants to use the draft to it's fullest, they should commit to training the picks for half a season, you should be able to make more money.

Well since you asked...

Arthur Glass (28411387)
Weekly salary: $ 5 273
Age: 19
Height: 6'0" / 183 cm
Potential: hall of famer

Arthur Glass was pick 9 in the season 22 draft by Arizona Cacti.

Riley Rojas (29558979)
Weekly salary: $ 3 760
Age: 18
Height: 6'0" / 183 cm
Potential: superstar

Riley Rojas was pick 25 in the season 23 draft by Arizona Cacti.

Works out well for you guys too, because these kids will probably distract me from going all out to win this league for a few seasons.

I'd say that was a pretty good return on your investment:-)

Well, you didn't come out and say how much you would be throwing the game, just that I should have an easier time winning on the road depending on how many starters I benched. Perfect time to publicly talk smack, no? :)

This season has the potential to get very interesting. No team has come out swinging on the transfer list and it appears that all of us have a team we can keep and afford without losing money. Cup runs, injuries are going to decide a lot, unless someone has deeper pockets than expected and makes a statement by adding bigtime salary. The past few seasons, someone has come out day 1 and added a 200k/wk player, not this season.

So much for an extended cup run, on the plus side, I guess I won't be playing training lineup's for anymore league games.

I'm sure you'll get even and steal a win at my place down the road.
