Second week of Season 11 is almost over and the competition in DIII.4 is heating up. This was a week of firsts. Some teams enjoyed their first win and some suffered their first loss.
Hawks beat Boosher with their own game, defense: 86-74. Tachenko left a sour taste in Magics mouth with a 99-79 win. Difference maker was rebounds and steals. Cleveland crashed Rip City: 104-52. While this looks kinda embarrassing for Rip City, having to face a sharp Cleveland with some of their starters benched for the cup game is an acceptable excuse. Flyers are celebrating their first win and bells are ringing for Cresleys, but again it's too early to jump to conclusions as new teams always need time for adjustment.
Goats hand Illusion their first defeat of the season at windy city:101-90. It's scary how Goats perform despite all injuries. Goats' win helped Gavno grabbing the top seed. Indiana side passed Bangers with a comfortable win: 105-79. Investors keep on winning and Dragons keep on losing: 98-77. Dragons used just a 6 man rotation in this game. X- steppers also got their first win. Knicks made a solid start with 2-0 but now they are 2-2. Score was 101-90.
There were some extraordinary performances on Day 4 and it was hard to choose the player of the day. After careful consideration, award goes to Mico Knez of the Cleveland Crazys. 21 pts, 13 boards and more interestingly 7 dimes. You don't see big men with such a great passing ability everyday. He is averaging 5.5 apg.
Cleveland @ Tachenko and Investors @ Goats likely to be the most exciting games of Saturday. On the other hand, rumor has it some players protest the timing of the second round of tourney which will be held on new years' eve night and decline to play.

It is very hard when you have a donut offense and your top scorer is down with an injury. The reality is that I will be VERY fortunate to make the relegation playoffs. It is also a bad thing when your point can't hit the side of a barn.

I have no idea how you won against me. Not only is your team full of injuries, but you TIE. One loss isn't that big of a deal, but since your my rival its a killer in the fan survey.
Also that ties our rivalry 5-5 (in all competitive matches)

Managing my teams minutes in the cup this week is a bitch. I'm short 2 players because I sold my starting pg, and my starting sf is injured. I'm also in the middle of trying to sell my backup sg in order to finance a new pg. I also have the problem of having a relatively weak team for quite some time, since not only am i short on starters, my training (of defense) will be delayed. I don't plan on being in full force during interleague play, but I hope to be tougher than ever going into playoffs.

Yeah, I'm not exactly sure how I did that either. Have you gone Normal all season thus far? My enthusiasm may have been a bit higher but that was only my second TIE in a row so it couldn't have been that much higher.

I did do some analysis of our game (actually, I've got every one of my games analyzed since I joined back in Season 4) and here's what I came up with about our last match.

Possessions: 99.8 to 99.0 Chicago Goats
Pts/Possession: 1.01 to 0.90 Chicago Goats

Poss/Turnovers: 7.60 to 7.07 Chicago Goats {Note: Avg Possessions before turning ball over
Poss/Steal: 11.00 to 12.47 Chicago Goats {Note: Opponents Possessions before a steal occurred
Field Goal %: 0.457 to 0.385 Chicago Goats
Free Throw %: 0.681 to 0.566 Chicago Goats
Off Reb %: 31.3 to 19.6 Chicago Goats
Poss/Assist: 3.33 to 7.07 Chicago Goats

We were more efficient as a team this time around. We led in every category for this game thus the reason why The Illusion actually lost. Despite losing Vivencio Capelo, my bench stepped up during his absense. I am very curious to find out how losing Coyle will affect my offense in the coming weeks. At least after Friday I'll hopefully be seeing the return of Cantrell.

======================================

Chicago Goats vs The Illusion: 7 League Games (does not include Playoffs)

Possessions: 91.94 to 91.43 Chicago Goats
Pts/Possession: 1.01 to 1.01 Even

Poss/Turnovers: 9.46 to 9.70 Chicago Goats {Note: Avg Possessions before turning ball over
Poss/Steal: 19.39 to 14.97 The Illusion {Note: Opponents Possessions before a steal occurred
Field Goal %: 0.402 to 0.426 The Illusion
Free Throw %: 0.603 to 0.589 Chicago Goats
Off Reb %: 33.33 to 26.9 Chicago Goats
Poss/Assist: 4.84 to 4.64 The Illusion

Ouch g.o.a.t.(s), that sucks. Guess its time to test that depth?

Your injury report still looks half as bad as my real life Blazers though.

Apparently, scoring 101 is my magic #.

I do not anticipate a 3 game winning streak but at least now I know I can play to stick around for another season.

Pay no attention to that Mina guy. He's all smoke and mirrors

Yeah the blazers are plagued, yet they continue to win. Brandon Roy is an absolute BEAST. When they are healthy, the blazers are a strong team that will be a playoff contender in years to come.

X-steppers: my team is gonna be pretty short handed as I just sold one of my all-around players and am looking to sell my center. I might have to play some players out of position, so don't try to take advantage, because if i lose this game theres gonna be hell to pay.

We are 5 games into the season and there were interesting games this week. Cleveland @Tachenko was a close game as expected. Tachenko's last quarter performance helped them win the game and remain at 2nd place: 85-80. Cresleys fought hard against Hawks but that wasn't enough: 102-87. Hawks are the only undefeated team but it won't be long before they suffer their first loss since they have a very tough 3 game road trip ahead. Booshers had another perfect defensive night as they defeat Flyers 80-54. So who was expecting Rip City to score 129 against Magic? 129-83. Now the question is can Rips contend for the playoffs? And the answer is why not! Magic fans are shocked with their 1-4 start and hoping to see the clouds disappear soon.
Gavno remain on the top with an easy win against Knicks. 117-79. Illuison return home with a comfortable win against Dragons: 100-72. Dragons (0-5) need to address the offensive issues if they want to be here next season. As the injuries healing on shedule, Goats are getting better with a great enthusiasm. Investors 108-Goats 118. Steppers climbed to a secure 5th place beating Bangers at the Crib: 101-91.
We have seen some great offensive performances and consequently some really high scoring games on Day 5. Speaking of offense, Gael Camona of Investors scored 49 and added 6 rbds and 3 assists. Only thing that could stop him was the foul trouble, and he deserved to be the player of the day.
Here are the must see games of Tuesday: Indianapolis @ Cleveland and Chicago @ Indiana. So, if you make your way to Midwest this week, maybe you should stick around to see one of those games.

Man, I miss this division. No one posts anything in II.1. That makes it more fun. At least I get to check in on my old stomping grounds and find out what's really happening. STrange to see the Magic and Bangerz struggling like they are.

I'm happy to be in 5th at 2-3 with good enthusiasm and to still be in the Cup.

I think I needed that many points just to prove that I can still score. . .I was sitting at only 65 ppg before this outburst. I was especially pleased because I benched my regular PG to keep his minutes down.

I'm excited to play the other side of the bracket. So far I've had to face all of the returning playoff teams on my side, and I pulled through it 1-2.

My question for Dragons is why the need to jump right back in with a 5 mil player? Why not get two awesome young players for 2.5 mil each and train the heck out of them. . especially now at 0-5 with a long uphill battle ahead its going to be tough to climb. Of course the guy will probably smoke me now that I said that.

The thing that impresses me the most about the level of competition is the depth of talent. I might have seen a few players with 10+ ratings in D4, maybe even 3 on the same team (at the most), but Hawks had like 8 players against me with ratings above 10.

Oh and Magic's stadium, Cauldron has almost 14,000? Wow. That's by far the largest stadium my team has played in. The revenue on that must be tremendous (that's a 13 right?). Okay so you know you play this way too much when you start rating everything on the BB scale.
