Thanks everybody. This is the best league anywhere in BB! I'll be posting here next season I'm sure. We all know most other leagues are like graveyards. Good luck to all of you, and I am rooting for all of you to do great things. Next DII relegate to come down here, kick his ass!

So, here's my plan for DII. I thought I'd share with you all my strategy for next season so you can see if it works or not....

These are in order by importance...

1. Buy a 40-70k center to hang with the big boys. My guys are solid but won't cut it against a 70k C for 38 minutes.
Ideally, I want a C that can pass, defend and rebound, as I am tweaking my roster so I can run Princeton every now and again.
2. Get a decent 18 yo PG. I know I won't have much to work with from the draft, so I hope to sell my picks for maybe 200k and use that and other funds to buy a nice 400-600k youngster with at least Astar pot.
3. Get a PF with range. Think Antwan Jamison. Maybe not a high salary guy, but a PF/SF combo who can exploit DII teams using the two C method (which you see a lot of)
4. Get a better backup SF. I have two guys I'm looking at, but I refuse to pay more than 800k. I know I can find a good outside defender who can shoot for 800k, I just have to be patient.
5. Be pragmatic - I will circle games at home I know I can stay close in, and go CT for some of them. I will always TIE against really good DII and recent NBBA relegates if I happen to end up in the same conference as one. I hope for 7-8 wins and a favorable relegation matchup. Just like Scrap :)
6. Stick with two pos. training for now. JR and JS are on the agenda, as Braden and Fennel have been trained in other areas to keep their salaries low for as long as possible. I may do some one pos. training for a 4-6 week span depending on my schedule. I'd like to go one pos.training against really good teams I won't have a chance against anyway.

Feedback is welcome....thanks guys.

I will never spend another cent on scouting! I got my two five star player as my first pick and he might be worth a ham sandwich.

did someone get anything special from the draft? mine is crappy. a 1100 player with 6th man potential and a 1700 guy with role player potential. only one of my guys is worth training and I am not sure if it's worth. I wonder if someone found his john wall.

oooh, I like my guy. You know that 18 year old I wanted so much.. He can dribble, he can pass, he can play O/D. He just can't shoot. Looks like its back to single position training for me.

I'm thinking of a great rotation of Mays, the new kid and Mina picking up some scraps. Do you think its foolish to play Mina in scrimmages knowing a) if I train him up any further, I won't be able to afford him and b) how important he is to my team's success?

Guess I better go learn his name. But here are his stats:

Booshes:

This is exactly what I have done the past two seasons to stay in DIV 3. I moved up 2 divisions my first two seasons and was ill-equipt to compete. I still have 1 more season of building before a "might" become a treat. I will say this is my first major rebuild and I think my team is much better. We'll see.... And Good Luck!
