First off as a member of the U21 scouting team I have to put my support towards Nick. He has shown he can be an active part of the U21 community and much like JK, he has put the time and effort into scouting, training, and applying himself in gameplan discussions. I believe he is the right guy for the job.

However, I do have a couple questions for all the candidates.

If you were to win the election what do you think you bring to U21 management position that the other candidates lack?

What do you think your biggest obsticle would be if you were appointed U21 manager?

Acknowledged. My point was that Wardo's statement was heading back down the road to bringing that attitude back into the U21 pipeline.

Agreed.
Might as well rally up the entire "good ole boys" to run the show again, and then completely leave everyone else out in the dark/cold to be verbally harassed if things aren't done their way.

I do not like the idea of going from dictatorship to different dictatorship. How about we get some democracy in here. Or, when democracy starts forming, not squash it like a bug.

Not that you are Ivess.

Democracy is the way I would fix the national teams. I would make every1 work hard and move up the scouting ladder.

Hey guys so I have signed up for u21 National Team Coach which means you will al lbe voting for me because I am obviously the best choice. I don't need to explain myself we all know I'm the best of all time, add that to the fact I am an alpha male and my fellow candidates are BETAS and LOSERS who won't bring us success and you get the equivalent of Trump over Hillary lol a very easy decision. Message me if you have concerns about the team once I get elected but trust me I won't care what you say but feel free to suggest ideas to make yourself feel included or something. We will win every competition we participate in and I promise you we will win every single game we play by 30 or more points it will be amazing. This is the new era of USA U21 NT basketball under my leadership I will make us an unbeatable presence and we will all have a great time and it will all be thanks to me. You're welcome in advance.

Aw I'm blushing. Stop it

I bring effort. As I said in my speech, I will stay up late and wake up early for this team. You can ask a variety of managers on the discord, I have been up at all hours the past couple of days, and last night I did not even sleep. I am 100% committed to this team and I will see it through. I am not saying the other managers are not committed or won't put in the effort, I'm just GUARANTEEING that I am MORE committed and will put in MORE effort than them.

My biggest obstacle is easy... thats following JK. He did a fantastic job as coach, and put more time and effort in than any other U21 coach I know. It is going to be incredibly hard to follow in his footsteps, but I strongly believe that with the staff and JK himself behind me, I can pick up right where he left off.

I'm having a really tough time choosing between Nick and Teemo. My vote currently resides with Nick, but I like the prospect of the ideas and philosophies that Teemo would bring to the equation, with the added benefit that he would have Nick, JK, and the apparatus challenging those ideas as well as supporting him. I also like Teemo's affinity for statistical analysis.

Teemo, if you lose the election, what role, if any, would you like to have in the US U21 team?

Nick, re:passing levels. By my estimation your ideal players PG-SF would have @15 levels fewer in other main skills in lieu of 14-13-12 passing. Given what we know about the effectiveness of wide-open shots vs contested shots (not to mention the possibility of FT's as well), is it really worth the trade-off?

Knowing what I know, I am a huge fan or the True PG build. I believe that on a BB team, your PG should just be able to completely shut down his opponent, while distributing and running the offense. For this build, two main skills are required. You need OD and PA. on the side you need some HA and DR to reduce turnovers and create more shots. I trained a player like this, Brett Bowers. He was the starting USA U21 PG in his time, and went on to start as a PG in the NBBA all last season, clearly I am not the only one that values this build.

While he did have lower JS and JR than the other players on the team (9/7 JS/JR), this did not stop him from shooting 53% from the field against world competition. In fact, I still believe that Phyr should have started Bowers at PG against bosnia http://www.buzzerbeater.com/match/36171/boxscore.aspx. Just goes to show you that lower JS/JR can still be effective while you increase the PA skill to increase flow.

However, I do believe we need a variety on the team, for games where we want to trick our opponent, or just mix things up and try something out. My IDEAL Lineup would be a true PG with high OD and PA, a LI SG who has high JS,DR, and IS, with still a decent enough PA skill to be a distributor, a defensive/balanced SF with OD/ID, and IS who can defend most players on the court, while still distributing on the offensive end with some PA. So in my IDEAL offense, yes I would like 14-13-12 PA on my guards and SF, while I utilize some donkey bigs at PF and C. However for obvious reasons we cannot run my ideal offense every game and we are also limited by the players that are trained for us. I do not want ALL of our guards to be 12+ PA necessarily. If we had a SG with strong JS/JR and only 9 or 10 PA I would consider using him in an outside offense.

So in regards to my ideal players being worth the decrease of skills in JS and JR and a few points here or there, I do believe its worth it. Because my ideal guards go along with my ideal lineup. So in reality the ideal passing levels depend on the type of offense we are running and the variety of talent available, but for my personal Ideal guards in my ideal offense, 14/13/12 would make me more than happy, and I believe they are truly worth it.

We have a lot of people out here who are committed to the cause. But I have always sensed one of the big turnoffs to the general population when it comes to NT matters, particularly the u21 is a closed mindset about how a player is to be built. Now most of these idioms are rooted in solid logic but it has to be a little bit off putting to some sensibilities. We should encourage experimentation and from this we will find new and different ways of thought. And from this we can in time field a team of eclectic pieces combining conventional wisdom with a bold sense of exploration which I think will not just solve the riddles that have perplexed us for ages but will also bring new ideas and voices into the fray.
