Comments from the Coach Jinx:

This victory is for our fans, without them there is no us. This victory did come at a cost because we lost Donny tonight to a MCL sprain and he'll be out for two weeks. This is truly unfortunate because it comes right at the meat of our schedule.

There was some dirty play going on in there and I think that the Maulers accomplished what they set out to do... take out one of our guys. We're going to have to rally around our junior guys and call the next man up. Hopefully there won't be a significant drop off in production.

We begin inter-league play in three days we have to be ready because the teams over there play a more aggressive style of basketball than our league. We have to be ready. Great win tonight!!!

Nobody can play "Above the Rim"...

Comments from the Coach Jinx:

This was a tough game, by a tough team going into the 4th quarter. I don't envy this conference at all, we know we have our hands full in the upcoming weeks. I knew we were entering the meat of our schedule, and that these teams were going to bring it but I didn't expect it would be like this. We have work to do.

With one of our starters out (Donny Hardman) I wasn't sure how it would effect the team, but the guys rallied around Ioakiem Faroukous (SG) and he got the job done against a really good shooter.

Amadeo Ruiz had a monster game for us tonight, and the team found away to get it done.

Inter-conference play is great, but Nobody can play "Above the Rim"...

Amazing win!!!

What can I say other than my guys gave it their best and came up short. This was a tough game, and I give credit to Neo Angeles for their half time adjustments. We had a really rocky 3rd quarter where we only made 3 baskets, everything else was from the free throw line and you can't do that to a good team.

I feel bad for our fans but we'll bounce back. On paper they have the roster to go all the way, tonight the Lighting proved it. They're an experienced team with starters aged 36, 35, 34, 27, and 27. We don't have a player on our team over 22, but one thing we do have is heart.

This conference is tough and you can only hope to make it through untouched, but the chances of that are minimal. We have to get our starter (Donny) back up for the stretch run... he's been down for a week now. Once he returns we'll be a well oiled machine again.

Our guys have another tough matchup on the road against the top team in the Great 8. Our young guys will bounce back from this, and we'll be ready to give the Tallahassee Trees the best game we can.

We may have lost our composure in this game and let it get away from us, but Nobody can play "Above the Rim"...

Well, going against the Great 8 isn't easy but I am doing well without my starting SG, everyone is stepping up. Although, it does seem like my PG is now becoming more of a passer than a scorer, which is fine with me. It is still early but unless something bad really happens, the number 3 seed should go to the WildBacks.

I'll take my losses with pride before I spend THAT much money on a player. I hope it works out for you. I figure I'll get 3 losses from the Great 8, maybe four. If I lose once more to you on the back end... I'll still be looking at a 17 win season. Progress is progress.
