Chicago Goats TIE'd the Illusion at home and came away victorious although now we've suffered our third injury to a key player. This is beginning to look bad and the team doctor is looking over his shoulder now. Our all-purpose perimeter player, Lawrence Coyle, will be sorely missed for the next two weeks. Our latest venture into playing the inside game as compared to the perimeter run-n-gun style we've grown very accustomed to since our first season back in Season 4 has proven to be fruitful although dangerous.
The unknown has shown a little glimpse into the future. The Goats first draft pick for Season 11, Kenneth Hiatt, made an unofficial debut as the starting Center when the current primary starter suffered an injury only a minute into the match. His 20 points, 13 rebounds, and 4 assists along with 1 steal and a block leave us craving more from this potential star postman. He stepped up admirably after the loss and the Goats are looking forward to more performances like this in the future. However, his shooting percentage needs to be improved as well as his knack for putting himself into foul trouble.
Not looking forward to future matches though. His performance was solid for a rookie but I'm going to need more than solid to have any chance in this league.
CHICAGO GOATS INJURY REPORT
C Vernon Partridge
***Finally had a breakout season last year playing mostly the rebounding interior defender with few opportunities to show his inside scoring touch as we let Cantrell, Lorenzo Capps, and Lowell Webber remain the primary focal point within our Run-N-Gun offense. Entered this season as the highest paid player on our team, becoming the first Goat to overtake Lorenzo Capps in that category. His size warrants a look on the inside and with the added scoring prowess of Vivencio Capelo, Bobby Dorman, and Titus Harvey, it was only natural to re-examine playing an interior offensive scheme. First game into Season 11, he injures a body part only known to the team doctor who has yet to release any medical records.
PG Clinton Cantrell
The heart of this team flows through Cantrell. He's a natural born leader and was looking forward to running the new offensive scheme and utilizing the 7'4" behemoth's inside scoring presence. Unfortunately the injury to Partridge has slowed the chemistry and to make matters worse, Cantrell would suffer an injury in only the second league game.
PG/SG/SF Lawrence Coyle
Coyle is my all-around. With his passing skills, I was really looking forward to pushing Capps to the 3-spot and capitalizing on Cantrell and Coyle's talents. The injury to Cantrell in the second game has delayed my hopes but still Coyle has stayed put at the 2-spot. Cantrell's injury has pushed in the young future star player, Teddy Titus into an immediate starting role which has not proven to be fruitful as of yet due. Chances are, with the recent spurt of injuries, Teddy Titus could see an influx in his training schedule and prosper from these injuries. However, during the game versus The Illusion, Coyle would suffer a massive injury probably due to over-extensive use of his services and will be missed for at least two weeks. Coyle's injury puts a HUGE damper on my team's offensive plans.
PF/C Vivencio Capelo
Gave me one hell of a scare tonight during the game versus The Illusion. Suffered a game-ending injury not even a full minute into the game. Of course, I was unaware the extent of the injury until after the game. Thankfully he will be able to return to the next league match but with Partridge down and the duo of Cantrell and Coyle officially shut down for a while, Capelo's numbers are sure to take a hit. If you've got him on your fantasy squad, rest assured you will get your rebounding numbers but do not be surprised when his scoring goes down.
