Like I said a few posts up, I was gonna wait a week or two to update, but I made some slight adjustments to how I calculated the ranking and I was excited to share it as quickly as possible.
The adjustments I made are:1) For skill ratings, instead of setting the grading scale such that 100% is the highest
average of any team in the league, I set it such that 100% is the highest rating that any team in the league has achieved
in any game during the season. This means there's not going to be anybody getting perfect scores in those categories, which just kinda feels more realistic to me.
2) Instead of just using
Win/Loss percentage, I decided to calculate a simple
Strength of Record (S.O.R) metric. It won't be nearly as fancy as anything you'd see on ESPN, don't get me wrong, but it does account for the relative strength of your opponents, by giving you points for your wins and taking away points for your losses based on the
win-loss record of your opponents. TL;DR: beating strong teams awards more points, and losing to strong teams costs less points.
3) Since I expect Strength of Record to become more reliable as more games are played, I set the formula to slowly increase the weight of S.O.R. over time and reduce the weight of Salary. This will be very gradual and won't be very noticeable until around 4-5 weeks in.
Without further ado, CapnCrazy110's III.15 Power Rankings, Version 2!

https://ibb.co/Yf5KDq4Observations:There were several big purchases in the last 48 hours that seriously impacted the salary portion of the ranking. Beware of Dogs and Hartford Huskies both moved up one spot in the ranking based on those moves, at the expense of Porch Pirates and Tropics.
The difference between EBW and Hartford is ~.00013, and I almost reported their ranks as flipped bc I rounded the numbers to 3 decimals before sorting.
For funsies I decided to check what the ranking would be if salary was ignored entirely. My team would have been #1, followed by Tenacious Turtles, with Lahser at 3rd. Which just underscores how heavily myself and Turtles rely on our deep lineups.
The top defensive rating so far was Galloping Sloths against Lahser. But the best offensive rating was Lahser in that same game.
The average defense in the league is actually slightly better than the average offense. An average defense rating is Respectable (low) while an average offense rates as Average (high). It just looks like the defenses are weaker because of the way that the ratings are scored.
The lowest ranked unbeaten is Tall Bodies at 7th. They didn't get many points for their 2 wins because they've only beaten 0-2 teams. Case Cardinals comes in at 9th despite being 0-2 for exactly the opposite reason.
