Juicepats was my smack whipping boy, for sure. One thing that was neat for me was realizing that one of the other managers was someone who I'd met IRL based off of not much and a hunch. Most of the early seasons were just everyone figuring out who could challenge KDB in any given season. He was always a notch above the rest of us.

I have to say when I saw Milwaukee Lethargy was on the top of the standings in your D-II league and was seemingly coasting his way to promotion, I thought, wow Shikago is really gonna do it after all these years . . . HE’S BACK! I’m gonna be re-united with my mentor: the greatest mentor of all time that single handedly contributed to my BB success and 9 NBBA titles. But then you defeated him and everything was back to normal. And I was like, oh yeah, I should have figured that was gonna happen with a team amply named “Lethargy.”

Sounds about how I would imagine it back in those days. I started playing BB in s8 and I remember by then KDB vs Ice storm BC was cooking up for a hot second. I chatted with the manager of Ice Storm BC when he tanked down to D-IV before he inevitably retired. I was surprised to see him in D-IV catting it up with us plebs in the forums, but didn’t realize he was on his way out.

Do you have any spicy Milwaukee Lethargy stories? Did you two ever face off?

I just now saw your above comment. Damn! I forgot about this one. That’s a good read. I think I even suggested interviewing Demon Hoosier, as he was a D-II league mate of mine before my promotion into the NBBA (which is where I learned about his time in the NBBA good old days). Didn’t you have a poll or a suggestion thread a week or so before each interview?

You might have been. I think I had a handful of people I talked to for ideas either here onsite or at the USA offsite. The hard part was finding enough people with a unique story. I miss the size and engagement of the community back then :(

Look at us! All pleasuring one another.

Apparently 'Eff You' is less of a greeting and more of a Friday night activity. Who knew?

Yeah, initially the phrase was used with a little more animosity and a side of cheeky banter in those early days of the NBBA. However, since then, the phrase has developed into cyber-sexual-harassment more than anything else, like — bend over, I’m gonna play patty cake with your cheeks — sort of thing.

Prison rules apply here. A lot of NBBA newcomers don’t know this and fall victim to cyber-sexual-harassment. The way I dealt with this issue after freshly promoting into the NBBA — I eff’d the biggest guy I could find and everyone became my bitch.

Jason. Definitely. After I purchased USA NT legend Kris Hunt for 5.5m, my top two players (he and Shawn Bowens) combined for 9.5m in TL purchases. Jason posted that I wasted money for two players that wouldn’t be enough to put my team over the top against NBBA competition. He stated that I might even be lucky to sniff playoffs. Oh, boy was he wrong. The rest is history,

After he made that post I acquired another USA NT veteran, Luke Simmons, for 2m. I dubbed it the BIG3. Ironically, Simmons was injured in G1 of NBBA finals and I didn’t end up needing him to defeat Jason’s team. At the time, Jason underestimated my three trainees Bill Isom (U21 SF), Johnny Kearney (U21 SF) and Darrly Meek (eventual NT depth player and guard/forward).

We shared a love hate relationship, Jason and I. He bought me supporter when mine ran out. I forgave good-guy-Jason for his blissful ignorance — he didn’t know what he was in for.

Far it be from me to give a shout out to the silver medalist of Arizona teams but you did, in fact, sniff the playoffs. Some would argue it was a deep inhale that didn't end for 3 NBBA seasons, but one way or another, a whiff was had!
