You’ll get there. Just pick your long-term strategy and stick to it. That’s the key to success! I’m happy to chat about it if you’d like. And the USA discord is a great place to get good advice, too!

Thanks for the offer.

My strategy has been to focus on C/PF for training and then pick up PG/SG/SF in the transfer list (7'0" and minimum superstar. The draft strategy has been to focus on those 7 footers/18 years old.

My team roster is good and the younger players have developed but this year I've hit the point where the overall salary is greater than team income. None of their salaries are high with the highest at $47k and then two at $30k but still higher than income. I'm looking to trade a couple of the older second team players but not sure that solves the problem as again their salaries aren't that high.

FYI, I have been increasing the number of seats or seat cost in the arena as the team's success increases.

Thanks--

Sounds great. First thing to remember about this game is that it's an economy game with an attached game engine for generating values within the economy. So, build your economic engine first. You're getting a larger arena. There's a soft cap of about 20000 seats you can fill. So think about where you want to end up. Right now you could have more lower tier seats.

Also, game shape is crucial for the team's success. And it's dependent on how many minutes players get a week. 50-75 is a good range for getting decent game shape. With only 8 players, you don't want to be scheduling scrimmages because that's 90+ minutes per player. Many people set up a roster with 4 starters, 3 trainees, 3 backups, and 3 scrubs. That lets you do 1-position training (which makes the best/most valuable players) in your three games while maintaining GS. My roster is a variation on that right now because I'm doing two-position training: 3 starters, 6 trainees, 3 backups, and 2 scrubs.

Happy to talk more in bb-mails!

Yeah… spent a few seasons in the NBBA, won the cup, maxed out to make the knockout stage of B3, made a couple personnel gambles that didn’t pay off, decided to go all in on training, tanked to D4, now planning for the climb again.

Here’s the link to the USA discord. Plenty of great managers there who are happy to share knowledge and advice:
