Hello,
I have been told by Knecht that he won't run again for elections as Austria's coach. I was looking for a new national team's challenge and that's why I decided to candidate.
First I want to apologize to write this speech in English. While I have been learning German during a few years at school when I was younger, I am not fluent in it. I feel more comfortable with English. If I am elected, a friend of mine may help and translate my words during the mandate. Or if an Austrian manager is willing do it from time to time, that would be great.
I have been managing Algeria over the last 2 seasons but don't want to continue because there were only 2 active managers. That was quite boring to get very few answers from them. In addition the number of eligible players for the Algerian team was rather weak.
However it was a good experience to know better the main working principles of a national team. I hope your community is more reactive and quite interested by the national team's performances. By the way I am quite sure it will be a bigger and more interesting challenge to lead Austria.
I made a first extract of the possible national team's players to get a generic idea. Of course I don't know exactly the skills of these players, but that gives me a general picture. I think Austria could be a serious team and one to be reckoned with.
To quickly resume my BB background, I have been playing the game for almost 6 years. I managed to reach the French league 1 several times and spent 11 seasons over there, the last 7 in a row, and I also played the B3 competition last season. Unfortunately my team was at the end of its cycle and it appeared necessary to demote in order to start again on the right foot.
Moreover I think I have a good knowledge of what skills are needed for international players because I had 4 French ones in my roster over the last seasons.
In real life, I am 38 and live in Pau, located South-West of France. I am still playing basketball in club, usually at forward positions and I am a great fan of Elan Bearnais Pau-Orthez that played against the current Austrian champion, Oberwart Gunners, in European Cup a few weeks ago. Was it a sign ?
If you have any questions about my candidacy, feel free to ask. I will try to answer as soon as possible.
Joruus.
