Dear All,

First of all, I would like to thank all that have voted for me and participated in this election in one way or another.. I think all of us has a common goal in mind, that is for our nation to progress as a unit.

I am pleasantly surprised by the number of votes that I have got and also an increase turnout for the election. I will work hard to repay the faith that I have received and hopefully earn the confidence of others. Also, I would like to take this opportunity to apologize for the poor performance of the NT last season.

Season 17 and the Asia Championship Tournament begins..

Cheers, Eric (Singapore NT manager)

NT Game 2 - Singapore vs Japan

After sufferring a 78-111 defeat at the hands of Philippines, Singapore survived a Japan onslaught without their star player, Fang Shuangxiang who lasted only one minute and Aznan bin Ismail who was eliminated from the game with 6 fouls.

Without Shuangxiang, Yeo Tse Hui (with 28 points) and Huo Xiangsong (with 26 points) stepped up to lead Singapore to a 104-100 victory to the delight of the travelling fans. It was a very tensed finish as the game could have gone either way.

"I am very pleased with the teamwork and effort. Support by the fans was also fantastic." Eric also reserved praise for in-form 23 years old Xiangsong, "At the moment Xiangsong is in great form, although this is his first season, he looks like a regular starter for the NT."

You made me feel like in Flysonic shoes cheering for HXS on NT... just like cheerin PJL on U21.
I will try to keep his best shape as I can, because I have reason to keep fit to play the B3 and surviving the grueling SBBL at the same time... ha...

NT Game 3 - Singapore vs Kazakhstan

Singapore could not protect a healthy 14 points lead garner in the first two quarters as they suffered a terrible breakdown in the 3rd quarter, 18-31. And to add salt to wound, for the 3rd straight game, Singapore star player Fang Shuangxiang could not last the full match as he was withdrawn in the 3rd quarter due to injury.

4th quarter was tight with lead being exchanged between the two teams. Singapore survived a late comeback by Kazakhstan to win 112-103 thanks to the performance of Aznan bin Ismail (32 points, 11 rebounds), Ng Chao Huat (24 points, 10 assists) and Wang Xiangjia (19 points, 13 rebounds).

Singapore manager Eric punched the air in delight at the final whistle. "It was another great performance by the team. With Shuangxiang injured in the 3rd quarter, I asked Wang Xiangjia to take over and the team and him responded well."

Singapore's bench players and staff embraced each other as if they have won the tournament. "It was another great performance by the team!" said a delighted Shuangxiang, "Next up, Australia!"
