@vpl

My experience is that if you don't sell you star players you will always have among 4 balls and more at the "familiar" category. For the "improve" category I only get at least four balls when I buy some good player or right after the draft when new players join my team.

@Naker Virus

My fan survey effects my ticket sales a lot. When I lose my previous away game I'll have a half or one ball rating at the "played well in our last league game" which makes a difference of one or two overall ball rating and cost me about 30k-40k in gate receipts.

I have similar experiences. Attendance in the bleacher seats in particular drops off after a loss.

Losing the game is what cost you 30k to 40k in gate receipts. Not the fan survey. I think that having half a ball in the "afraid players will be transferred" makes very little difference. I have had half a ball in that section ever since I started playing.

Losing a game causes a worse fan survey. Hence, fan survey effects gate receipts and cost me money, for example when I lose my previous away game.

When you say you've always had half a ball in one category you can't really tell what difference it makes when it is higher.

I took a look at your arena and saw that your arena is a little small for a Div.II team so maybe it really doesn't make such a big difference in your case.

Well the rating was high when I first started, then as I sold players it got lower but I didn't notice any difference in gate receipts as I was winning games.

Yeah my arena is very small for a div 2 team but that is because I have only been playing for 2 full seasons (this being my 3rd season) and so I have put most of my money in to buying players to promote instead of spending lots on my arena. Although I have still spent about 2 million I think so still spent a decent amount on it.

You say losing a game causes a worse fan survey and therefore a fan survey effects gate receipts and costs you money, but that isn't really true. The loss of the game was what caused the drop in attendance essentially. If you win your away games then I don't think attendance fluctuates too much.

Anyway, the point I was making was that people should not worry too much about increasing the ball ratings in categories such as "Afraid of players being transferred" and "General manager is doing everything he can" and "I am happy with how things are going". Just concentrate on winning games and the fan survey will have 4 or 5 balls in most categories.

I mean obviously winning games is better than losing games for ticket sales. But if your team isn't that good, then doing well in some of the other categories or maybe CTing a TV/rivalry game will help you out a bunch. And although I don't know this for sure, I'd say that even if you're losing games, you could still maintain good ticket sales with a really high level PR guy.

From the game manual about arena:
"The happier your fans are, the more of each type of ticket they will buy,..."

From the game manual about fan survey:
"When BuzzerBeater fans don't like the way you are running your team, they are less likely to buy merchandise and attend your games...."
"Questions 4-6 ask about the team's performance in recent games. BuzzerBeater fans are notoriously fickle, and their opinion of your team can swing dramatically on the outcome of a single game..."

I have to disagree on that point with you. Of course losing games causes lower attendance, but further, the fan survey is a way from BB to make things more transparent for the user. It helps us to understand why we have high or low attendance during home games and gain more or less money with merchandising.

I do agree with you that winning games in general is the most important thing to get high attendance, and it is not too bad not to have a high rating in every single category of the fan survey.

Yeah having high ratings in the fan survey is good. I'm just saying that the effect of the "afraid of players being transferred" category being low isn't that severe. Merchandise doesn't take a big hit, and it doesn't affect attendance much. That is my experience anyway. The other categories seem more important than this one. Especially because when this one is low, the "General manager is doing everything he can" category is generally high so maybe they just cancel each other out.

Thats true. The only time I have these two categories high at the same time is when I buy a decent player, which barely happens. I maybe buy one player a season during the past couple seasons, so this rating is always kind of low whereas the other one is always high because I barely sell any of my good players.

Mine is the opposite, I buy and sell about 50 players a season (probably more) and so my "Afraid players are transferred" is at 0.5 and my "General Manager is doing everything he can" is always on 4.5 or 5.

You can still have a good overall rating even with low ratings in 1 category. GM is doing everything he can is only 2 for me but because everything else is high so overall i have a 5 ball rating.
