I'm actually going to focus more on the cup....surely more revenue?

And I can afford to lose the first few league games perhaps.....apart from the TV game. My league is filled with bots.

:)

Thanks for promptly answering my query before my first game in chrage....

in my opinion the cup should be treated as a bonus... a lot depends on the size of the crowds... in my league with only 15 humans only 2 x 6500 seater stadiums in the whole country (1 is mine!) so for me i would rather use the training slots more effectively and improve my players..

Also getting on a winning streak def has more money advantages... i would recommend to win whenever possible to keep fans multiplying and then inturn allowing you to build up your stadium.....

i would say beating bots week in week out will give you a better return on your fan base/ home income than throwing these for 1/3 away income or if lucky 2/3 home income from a cup run.....

meh, see your point. It's just I hate going out the cup early (from experience in sokker and hattrick) It's such a long season...

:D

Another question.

Right.

You set your team, first choice, who start.

You then set backups, and reserves.

How strictly do the Back ups and reserves follow the positions you ask them to play in?

EG. If I put a player as a back up PG, and another as a reserve PG, will they only come on as PGs, or will they sometimes play in other positions, thus screwing up your training for the week.?

Thanks.

hm, interesting and difficult choices to make...

if you are unlucky, then you don't get any or very low money from cup matches. ( I even think you only get money if you play at home, no split of revenue) So say you play 4 times in a row on the road, you have 0 income from the cup...

If you are lucky and play home a lot, it will be an important bonus.

Ofcourse, if you loose your league games due to that,...

no easy decision...

I'd say, pick the players you need to win your league games, keep the rest for your cup game, and make this cup game team as strong as possible. e.g. if you have a star you don't need to win your league game, you can use him in your cup...

who plays where and how long is decided by your players, by you and by your coach.

If you want your players to play ABOUT 24 minutes each, then you should have 2 players that are equally good, in the same shape, and with the same stamina, low stamina!! (otherwise the starter will play more minutes. Also your players should be fit for 1 position only, or be much better at that position than any others.
Then you must choose 'let coach decide' .
what happens if you don't comply to these terms?
if you tell the coach to follow your dept chart, the starter will play longer minutes, but no one will switch position, so if it is important that the players play at exactly the position you want, it is important to take this option.

If you have the coach decide, then he might switch positions. I had this on several occasions. My SGs where so good, they also played better at SF than the SFs I had at that time, so my coach had both SG play instead of 1 SG and 1 SF ...

In order to win games I like to let the coach decide, since he will put the best available man in a position he needs at a time.
If I focus on training, I always play 'follow dept shart' since I have many centers and play them on C, PF and somethimes at SF position to train them. Should I let the coach decide he probably puts my SG on SF, or my SF that I put on SG for this game on court at SF instead of having my centers train....

Hope this helps.

oh my...

hm

then why where so many people complainting about the fact that they thought the revenue should be split...
I always agreed to them, but as it seems now, that was already the case, so no need to call for it...

strange strange.

But for the better. ;)
My apologies if I confused anyone with my unknowingness. ;)

With regards to training how doe the substitutions affect it?

eg.

I choose to train jumpshots for my Forwards.

For the last 2 minutes of a game my SF plays as a C, after playing 48 mins as a SF. Does he now get full training or none , because he last played as a C?

Anybody know?

Thanks :)

Your reserves will hardly ever play, especially if they are truly reserves. The exception is in the case of injuries, or foul trouble.

Most the time, BB will limit itself to your first 2 in each position, especially if you have 10 players listed (you can set the starter at one position as the backup at another). If your starter has good stamina and is in good game shape, he will generally play most of the game, especially if he is as good or better than his backup. If you try to start a weaker player, he may get substituted quite early. It is kind of hard to get enough minutes for your backups without using them in all 3 games. It is also sometime hard to improve game shape. Because of his low game shape he will get less minutes, which will keep him from improving game shape.

Something to remember is that you can change your training regimen up to the time of the training update (same as in HT), so if for some reason the minutes aren't working out you can change. So let's say you are training C, and for some reason end up with your starter with 100 minutes, and his backup with 40; but you have 3 PF who have 48 minutes each. If you switch the training to C/PF, then you can train 5 players. Even if the training is only 1/2 as effective 5x1/2 is more than 2x1.

Also if you train C/PF and a player has minutes at both C and PF, they both count as far as training.
