It’s a combination of the two methods. Train a few guys to sell for money so then you can keep 1 and use the money to build your team up. On the flip side, there are some that will train 3 solid guys and gradually build cash reserves that will build out the rest of your team.

The key is watching the games to really get a handle on the game engine. Team ratings matter, but the individual matchups matter even more, especially if the mismatches line up with your team ratings.

Another method is to buy a few young guys that are decent, spend a season training, and then sell them for a profit to build cash reserves. There are many ways to do it, you just need to figure out which method you want and commit to it.

Great advice here. I’m trying the train 3 good young players while saving money method myself. If you get a couple of top draft picks that can sell for a good amount along the way it can help boost the cash reserves for when you eventually make a run up the divisions. Also, winning D4 each time to come back up to 3 nets a nice profit.

The trick I used was to buy a solid set of guards that needed a season or two of training. During this time I bought players that I thought had funny names or looked cool. Real superhero looking players, the kind with a face for advertisement. After forming a rivalry with a team that had a single big man season MVP I decided to spend two grueling years training a big to compete.

I used the discord to fish out an incredible player, Hollis Blevins, but only bought him because I thought he was the ugliest player I had ever seen in the game.

Once I got to D3 I started silent rivalries with numerous players based off of our discord interactions, and ended up buying a Utopia team in the hopes that I would get paired up with one of them. Coincidentally, I ended up in a league with one of my greatest silent discord rivalries, and I have devoted all of my time towards training some amazing guard draftees and making sure that my nemesis/rival will never promote before me.

Being honest though, watching games often helps a lot. I have a few tricks for my team lineup in particular that I don't think many players focus on, and I have luckily noticed the boon enough to have made it this far with a low salary lineup.

Looking forward to the rest of the season! Stay hydrated fellas

I’ve never seen such a roaring comeback in the last 2 minutes of a game. I think you had 4 steals in a row to go from down 7 points to winning by 1 in the closing seconds. Craziness!

So I cratered my team's finances. Had to sell our best talent. Almost in the black so that I can afford to acquire much cheaper staff and super likely to be relegated. But, the first time since COVID I've been interested and scouted the draft. So there's that.

My weakness shined bright tonight as I slipped on the “banana” tonight.

An insanely tense tiebreaker game with the Heels. Definitely check out the 4th quarter if you guys want to see what makes BB so great!

A bummer to lose, but honestly I'd have been even more bummed to leave this league behind. Best of luck to everyone next season! I've had a blast!
