Totally agree. I always argue about it on the forums and was often told that "this is a game and it is not meant to represent real life basketball". Go figure...

I guess I'm just a bit annoyed that it happened half way through my plan. Have to update now - change things around a bit.

I remember even GMs and BBs saying that they'd never do the fan thing. Glad they did.

Problem is, though, is that with the fan thing, they don't need the cap on how much people can save. 25 million isn't that much if you're trying to put together a top league title chase or deep B3 run.

It definitely threw a spanner in the works. I had only just sold my entire frontcourt before this was announced..

I agree, it does have plenty of merit though, as you guys pointed out. It demands accountability and adds realism, big ticks for mine.

More being stuck in an endless loop of never quite there man, and not respecting the game enough. Made plenty of terrible choices along the way, never really built up any sort of financial kitty, always fluctuating between no cash and just enough to pay staff/player wages for the upcoming week - just hoping for a home game around the corner.. pretty abysmal management really.

Clearly the guys with ABBL experience know the difference between being good and great - I'm just not at that level tbh. So it's perma-drawing boards man.

You need some money in the bank for sure.
I always spent everything I had and it was not till I sold up and restarted that I was able to make it to ABBL.
But when I did I did not have enough cash to challenge and it was the only season I can think of no one tanked there.

So I sold up and started again.

Cheers guys, I've started to spend a lot more time on the economy side of things. Finally in a position where I'm getting some funds in the bank each week but ompared to the league average net income I'm be miles behind. Without taking a closer look as yet, I'm guessing it has a lot to do with everyone else having larger arenas than myself - an area I've never been able to develop as quickly as I would have liked due to having no cashflow. Having said that, any investment into an expansion takes a fair while to pay itself off, so I assume I'd be better off doing it in large blocks rather than very small increments as I've done over many seasons.

I haven't invested anything in the draft since my first few seasons but I've read there's cause for a greater emphasis in that department. How much energy do you guys put into that area? Or are you of the view it's better to target the trainees you want on the market?

Besides some veterans I'm still flogging to remain competitive, and one I've just brought in since tbe new fan tweaks were announced, most of my focus is going into training the guys I've already got, even if some of them are a year or two behind where they really should be skill-wise.

Do lots of small upgrades. Keep it to under 7 days to complete. And get it up to max for sure asap.
Without it you will always struggle.
Always worth putting 10k a week into draft but save them up till you are going to be near the top of the draft board,
I get something decent every year. 2 of my 3 trainees were drafted. Always adds to your merch having them also.

You really really need to build more stadium. But don't worry about breaches. Fans in them are the ones that go up and down all the time. The better seats stay with you more and are a much better investment.
