It was a tough one but you should have CT'd me. Shadowcats had PONed his games, his side of the bracket is easier so he has a better chance to beat me even though I have the HC.

Yeah I picked a bad pair of weeks to go on assignment and not really pay attention to the game. :-) Well played mate, you kicked my ass in the 3rd, all the other periods were tight. Really struggling at center right now as early on I ditched an injured center and my HOF center in training is moving rather slowly along. I was bummed that we did not win but you have a way better squad rating wise so it was to be expected. Cheers and good luck next season.

It created a pretty easy road for me to my predictable loss in the next round. We're going to have many new faces on our side of the table next season, so it could be pretty unpredictable. My guess is that I'm still another season away from making a real promotion bid, but if things pan out right I could also see spending some midseason.

How are those of you on the other side of the table doing financially? I would have to guess some of the bigger wage teams are operating at a loss.

By PONing you I did not mean it to sound like I underestimated your team if that's what your thinking. I knew very well going into the game that there was definitely a chance I was going to lose. I put some thought into beofre the PO's, and realized that my only shot at possibly beating the shadowcats would be to PON both games, since I knew he'd be able to PON till the finals. Then, I would at least be about equal in enthusiasm with him, and it would go from there. I did not see a point in making it to the finals if I had no shot at winning, considering I will be making more money this week anyway because I don't have to pay player salaries.

I know what you mean. And while us big 8ears were so busy with each other, shadowcats built great enthusiasm.
However I am not sorry for the loss, dimitri reuer of champs has been selected MVP. He was last years' MVP too (of couse in another Div) back to back MVPs. Nice!

Congrats on the MVP award my friend. He may be bald, but he sure as hell knows how to ball!

Maybe you guys should have mutual PON'd each other and mutual TIE'd each other during the regular season.

Congrats!

If you look at my game's I think I TIE'd every game except for like three. One was against you, one against erphil, and I know there was one where I forgot to set my lineup. Oh and I norm'd the first game of the season. Other than that I think I TIE'd every game. Also, I'm not sure if I would trust the other person if we agreed on a mutual PON/TIE. I know I wouldn't trust myself!

When I was in NBBA, there was a season or two that nearly every game came with a request. It got a little old. I did get creative a couple times and made deals about various levels of effort including CTing against third parties.

Haha, that's quite funny. How was it being in the NBBA by the way? I'm sure it was much different back then then it is today.

I can't compare it to now, because I'm not there. What I gather from the series forum is that they are pretty astute about transfers and financial management. I don't know how hard it is for them to judge arena prices, but I think that is one of the most difficult things down here. Still, the wage demands there are brutal. I really botched the market over the course of a couple seasons and had a season or two that I didn't pay much attention. At the beginning, we were all just figuring things out. There were many tweaks to the rules and game engine. Sometimes investments didn't pan out because of that. When I was there, I usually gunned to have one of the top teams, which meant taking big risks. It became impossible to have a good enough team without operating at a big loss. IIRC, my wages crossed the 500k mark at one point and that was when big wage players were rare. I demoted from there and II thinking I'd be right back up...which isn't how it turned out. Since then I have tried to build a war chest the way one might in Hattrick so that I could make a quick rise. That also has been difficult and I'm not really sure how much it would take. I'm confident I have enough now that I could make some real trouble around here, but I don't know if even that would be sustainable a league up.
