He doesn't NEED a HoF player. He could sell the player, buy 3 perrenial allstar players of his choice, and train them in whatever he wants. He would make a few million profit. His team is probably already good enough to advance to div 4. He can invest in his arena straight away.

If he took your approach and trained the HoF player, what good would it do him?
Why should he train the HoF player instead of a player with exact same skills and perrenial allstar potential?
Perrenial all star will allow him to train for pretty much just as long, and he would have millions of dollars extra left over to upgrade his arena which will set him up for the future.

As long? Not really, if he plans to train him to the National Team a perrenial allstar usually caps at 80k more or less (I don't have the salary caps for each potential but i must assume its something like this. And an 80k player never goes to the National Team unless it's a SF.

Depends if his priority is to just get a guy on the national team, or to promote quicker. Perrenial allstar is 80k to 100k (higher now that the salaries have increased).

And a maxxed out Per Allstar player is a average not dominant player in DII. If your going to bother training might as well get the most bang for your buck. You need to focus on the long run Naker, it seems the farthest you can see is 2-3 seasons from now maximum.

I wont even touch the fact that the salaries will begin to trend down over the coming seasons as has been hotly debated on the global forum making a player like his HoF much easier to afford. But since we just want to cash out for as much as we can get now that wouldn't matter would in Naker?

I guess I figure I can buy the players I need at a later date, no need to be training them from now until I reach Div 1. I'm doing the minimum required to still try and promote (hopefully). And any money I save, plus players I sell at the end of the season, can be used to buy an entire new team suitable for Div 2 if and when I get there.

I would advise to sell.

An 18yo HOF at this point is worth the most $ per skill than ANY player on the transfer list.(Even a 24yo fully developed SF.)

So the bottom line is the money he should receive from this sale IF spent properly will advance him significantly further up the ladder than holding on and training.

If he trains for 1 season then he would likely sell for similar price to today.
If he trains and sells for 2-3 seasons maybe he'll make a nice profit but the profit will never be as great as cashing in & re-investing properly.

This isnt an accurate analagy but if you were at the Casino playing blackjack and drew 2 Aces... would you split? No-brainer.

CASH in on that lottery ticket and dont listen to the sentimentalists..... thought of a better one.. you've been given a brand new car. Sell it now or drive it off the forecourt and lost money each day you own it?

lol. You say to sell = 5 balls.
I say to sell whilst people with opposite view are online = 1 ball.

So you decide to dilute the rating even though you agree!?
