One more to say, why don't you let it go then?

You have to type and comment on my words only, but not the very beginning comment when HOSS and Chrundles commented "I would have quit if I was you"

Face the truth, speak the truth, you have taken side and come as an outsider of the league as "dropping by", more like "invited" to me.

Anyways, I play the game differently and I am not the one to cover my failure with explanations like "I never planned to stay in the league this season", which then he would have/should have thrown games intentionally like Chrundles did once strategically.

The league has witnessed what HOSS did, he can't even admit "I lost to Surry Hills, well played"

And you didn't say a word about this?

Mate, let it dirty go.

Thanks

Fair comment. You are correct. I guess I just think you can all probably dial it back a bit. It is just a game. It's great to be passionate, but it is a game. Nothing wrong with fierce rivalries...but better on the court.

Hoss is now heading south to join me, and Chrundles will promote as Apocalypse planned his 'other' route to the ABBL weeks ago. (The same route I took to the ABBL). It's a game and we all are entitled to play it our way.

Do your talking on the court, mate. If there is anything I have learned in my time in BB it's that eventually we all play each other again.

...so, when you meet Hoss or Chrundles again, bring 'your' game, whatever that is, and ignore the taunts.

OR, as your idol once said..."I don't aspire to be like other drivers - I aspire to be unique in my own way." (LH)

So continue doing that, mate.

That's my 2 bob's worth

The very beginning comment was you messaging myself and Damo (Chrundles) about if we're ready for your million dollar salary. I certainly wasn't as I was spending the salary floor the entire season and had nothing to prove. Damo obviously was with far less salary than you.
We had a good laugh at what a peanut you are well before you faced me in the game I knew I had no chance in. I even went out of my way to goat you into spending enthusiasm (which I accomplished) against a team with 700k less salary than you to help him, which never would have happened if you didn't run your mouth...

I was (probably) the first to congratulate him taking you to school with far less salary, which wouldn't have phased me in the slightest if you hadn't called us both out for no reason whatsoever...

Anyways, I play the game differently and I am not the one to cover my failure with explanations like "I never planned to stay in the league this season", which then he would have/should have thrown games intentionally like Chrundles did once strategically.

All the proof you need about what I intended this season is in the investment I made to my arena. Even then, I still have 2 million I could have spent to comprehensively beat you. It would have been pointless. I, unlike you, have nothing to prove to anyone.

And Chrundles tanked to me because he could. If you think you didn't have someone give you a free pass, what happened here? (134075664)

The league has witnessed what HOSS did, he can't even admit "I lost to Surry Hills, well played"

Feel free to ask P Tom if I messaged him (before game 3 ended) congratulating him on avoiding demotion. I'm even more humble in defeat than I am in victory. You should take a leaf...

It’s funny, the forums had become kind of quiet, then this malarkey erupted. A bit of banter is ok, let’s all dial it down a notch now, ok? We all play the game with different goals and we’re all at different stages on the path to those goals. But the pile on here is poor form. It’s a game, there are other actual humans on the other end of the keyboards, let’s be respectful of that.

I was just checking across div 2s to see who got promoted, so ran into this forum and...yikes. This is wild. Spending $1m in div 2 is pretty interesting, but anyhow, congrats to Chrundle on the promotion along with All Torn Down.

On a positive note - at least people are invested in the game, just hopefully more civil and friendly moving forward

Cheers mate, i have to say though, it was extremely tough to balance the finances after dropping down to Div 2, and spent majority of the year in debt.

But looking forward to the challenge again to be somewhat competitive.

I'd like to say I understand that but I don't really. Last time I was in the ABBL (Finished 2-20 after tanking) then took a break from BB for a little bit. I think I achieved the goal of getting to the ABBL and it took some of the excitement of the game away. Similar to you this season, I also dominated Div II then sold up in prep for the ABBL knowing I had the best Div II record.

I am very focused now. I have definitely challenged myself this time round. I don't want to just return there, I am doing it as a 100% HG team with the sole focus of staying there. So, yeah, no idea of juggling finances from dropping from ABBL to Div II although I have plenty of knowledge around seesawing from Div II to Div III.

Sorry to turn this into info about me! lol

Enjoy the journey back, mate. You earned it. I look forward to seeing you stay up too.

Nah don't apologize mate, its all good!

I think from memory i was making over 550K a week in home games in the ABBL compared to 290k in Div 2. Thats a massive drop, plus add in my roster salary this year so it was tough, but im looking forward to getting the 1.5 Million and rebuilding my roster.

Thats great you have challenged yourself, it would be good to see you back at the top mate!

I have kept particularly quiet in the forum this year but having read all the comments over the past couple of weeks, i have to say that anyone is obviously entitled to play this game however they want.

For me personally, i refuse to go down the draft and train route. Getting older established players who are ready to go will always be my way, and yes i have burnt cash doing it, but that's how I play this game. I am happy to play in any division but will do it my way and like others, especially Petronas, in my opinion, there is nothing wrong in how he went about it in trying to get that promotion. Not having home court definitely plays a major part when your game shape isn't proficient across your starters.

It's great there is a bit of chatter in the forums and hope this can continue going forward. Banter is great, as long as it doesn't get personal and at the end of the day, this is just an online basketball manager game for all of us to enjoy and play however we want.

It's great to hear your thoughts on playing this game. Like I said (here or elsewhere), this is a game! Play it how you want to play...just play within the rules. I used to have a similar mindset you regarding buying ready-to-go players, although I usually trained a little (U21 player here and there). As a HG team, it is everything! So yeah, play the way that makes it fun and rewarding.

As for Petronas's method: while it's not how I play, I respect him having a go. Without revamping or rekindling the fiery discussions here previously, I think he and others could have chosen their words more carefully. Enough said.

Hopefully you and others will get into the forums a bit more. Peeps are probably wondering who this MrJ is whose commenting across the forums! lol I'm not spamming...

...I just want to see Aussie BB get a little more active again. This isn't the first time I've tried it, and it won't be the last. When I have the energy, I have a crack.

Enjoy the ABBL mate. I'll join you...

..in about 8 seaosns if I'm lucky!
