We've got excitement brewing in III.2 now that the run-up to the playoffs is upon us!

Looks like its gonna be a four-way battle for third down the stretch in the Great 8! With three games left in the season, the standings show Drunken Clams at 11-8 (280), Hattori Hustlers at 11-8 (186), Scrap Heap Low Posters at 11-8 (119), and Tiger Army at 11-8 (56). Add in that each team will finish the season facing the three other teams on the list, and you've got a recipe for an all-out brawl. Whoever comes out on top will share quarterfinals billing with the recently struggling Rashmonsters and have a shot at the Semis. And the team that falls to the bottom will have to console themselves with a relegation series that includes a trip to San Antonio or (if the Stalkers fare better this Saturday than they did last time against the Knights) some serious bot-squashing against the Black Pepperz and their absentee manager.

We've also got a three-way fight for third on the Blue side including BigRed 9-10 (42), BPI Robbiemen 9-10 (4) and Arutunians 9-10 (-31). In the next two games, each team will face a top-two team (likely a loss) and a 6th-7th team (likely a win). So it will all come down to the last night of the season when BigRed travels to Robertson Memorial Fieldhouse to take on BPI Robbiemen under the bright lights of television. The winner of that game will take the third seed in the playoffs and the loser will take a vacation until season 32. That is, unless the Arutunians can sneak into 3rd with a big PD push. It's possible, but they'll have to keep it close this Saturday when the Flex Zone Stars come calling, and then stomp the Knights and the Stalkers as they prep for the playoffs.

These are the kind of high-stakes games that bitter rivalries are built on. Should be some good BBallin' these next couple weeks! Good luck, and may the Drunken Cla– I mean... may the best team win.

So the Tigers are at the Clams and Scrap Heap is at the Hustlers.

It looks like the Tigers have the biggest obstacle to overcome. They need to win big and the other game needs to be a blowout to make the playoffs.

If both home teams win (Clams and Hustlers), they both are in the playoffs.

If the Clams lose, they are out and both the Hustlers and Scrap Heap are in.

If Scrap Heap wins, they are in the playoffs and the Hustlers need the Tiger Army to win to make it in.

Should be interesting to see what happens....
