interesting move by Iwen.

Has he conceded the season or is he cashing up to get in a few 300K a week players to take down Bryce Gibbs?

Whats your thoughts?

He has already told us that he intends to sell out and go back to training. His plan next season is to train 3 x HoF 18 year olds so hence will be tanking all games.

Someone moving to the ABBL will get a lucky break next season as Iwen will no doubt finish 8th and get relegated.

Billy Hoyles are a smokey. Took down WA this week and has a bit in the bank I'm lead to believe.

Long term plan for HA is to take down Bryce Gibbs and Dire and win season 20 in the ABBL.

Might be put back several seasons if I cant get past Glenelg Tigers, SVM and DAS to promote back up

Okay, but is that necessary to sell players like Ton and Dellasta to train 3 HoF? These 2 have been with him for a long time, perform incredibly well and have okay wages. Not to mention they can play anywhere on the court. They would have been just perfect to give his future team a few wins.

I think the whole point is to tank all the way back to Div3, train, save $20m and then make his way back up to ABBL.

Looks like SBV has made a big move and has at least one more acquisition left in him

Game is certainly hotting up

How many of Iwens players will Chumunga buy?

Anyone care to try and pick the order that the teams will be in after round 22?

In all of my 12 seasons in the game I dont ever recall seeing a conference so tight.

Can HA (Yodas 10% chance man) hang on and make finals?

Meh you totally killed the suspense for the promotion, although I'm not even surprised. SBV, who is your strongest opponent so far, is screwed. Free way to heaven you got.

At least the bottom of the board is gonna be a lot more interesting. Definitely the most exciting season I have had.

I apologise if by posting on this board that SNV had made a major purchase, that I have somehow killed the suspense as to who might promote.

Since your post claiming the suspense had been killed, SBV has made another outlandish purchase.

I dont share your belief that the suspense is totally ruined however.

Buzzer Beater is a strange game, an injury here or there and an outside chance team like HA (who was rated by Yoda at only a 10% chance) might even get lucky and promote

I don't think you can call a team that has just spent $2m on a $100k pg an outside chance. Particularly not when coupled with a $45k sf and a $65k sg and pf, not forgetting the $140k centre with his nearly $50k backup and the rest of the roster. Those players cost nearly 50% more than my entire roster and thats not counting your backup pg/sg group who are each $20k. You are not fooling anyone with your talk about possible relegation, particularly when it is your team that is the 2nd highest ranked team in this league. The chatter you have generated in this forum has been great but the attempts to make us think your team is weak or weakening are now just bordering on annoying. Sorry mate, but it had to be said.

I know things are tight and undoubtfully stressfull in the bottom 3 quarters of this conference, but please try to recognise an attempt at sarcastic humour as just that

I am hoping Billy Hoyle is all smoke and mirrors. I beat him three weeks ago when he was decimated by injuries but I have him in the final of the PL tonight, the fact that he beat Bryce this week makes me think I don't have much chance especially as I have missed out on a couple of auctions recently and just one left before the game.

Syd is a very tricky and bold manager. I am surprised to always see him be able to pull out a couple of extra million to buy yet another superstar when he already has such an expensive roster. Still his roster now is MUCH weaker than the one he has last time, probably about 2/3 of the cost of that crazy ABBL standard $750,000 roster he won with last time.

Big 8

Glenelg Tigers is still in the box seat with HCA locked up and some brilliant players like Fan and the underrated Ton. Their 6th best player is $8,000 so another team with no depth, for now at least. I was told some weeks ago they were "certain" to promote. It is far from certain but they are the biggest issue for HA.

hopelessly addicted, the evil accountant, the Bryce Gibbs of division II. He certainly has upped his odds from 10% with the recent purchases. 140k C, 100k, PG, and eight real players in total, he has both the elite top and depth. He has certainly moved up into close to favourite status now.

No idea who will be 3rd or 4th but the current ones:

BroomeTime are behind in roster quality and game shape and can't beat Glenelg or HA without a massive spend and may not .

My old buddy peaceNroll has had a fantastic season peaking at the right time and has a great roster for the 3rd -7th race but wont scare the top two.

Great 8
It looks like Drunken All-Stars who I had rated very highly is packing it in and selling up with Slaughter and Gasic up for sale.

South Brisbane Vultures are still in it but only have four good players and need one more solid starter. If DAS does sell and not buy again then the winner of the SBV v NS first round will probably be going to the finals.

Nevada Saucers have a few really good players but also have no depth.

Mangoloids have been brilliantly managed but are no threat for the playoffs unless we see a massive splurge.

So my odds now (assuming DAS is selling and pulling the pin, not just reloading, I really don't know).
Glenelg Tigers 30%
hopelessly addicted 30%
South Brisbane Vultures 20%
Drunken All-Stars 5%
Nevada Saucers 5%
Anyone else 10%
