Good game js8, you got me back for the cup
Figured that new C was enough for you today, especially after Saturday's game, you needed him to give yourself a proper chance to win it all though!

You thoroughly deserved the cup tie and because of that, I never felt easy going into our game tonight despite HCA.

I definitely needed a big man if I want to win EBBL, I didn't have enough with Needham at PF.

Look forward to seeing you go big next season, makes this side of the conference very interesting.

Interesting finals matchup - Wasps haven't lost at home all season (save for a reserves vs reserves match) but are arguably the easiest 'elite' team in the league to beat via tactics, being so limited in scoring. And OPF can be a bit hit and miss but on a good day can beat anyone away from home.
Bet the under in game 1!
Should be good to watch and hard to watch at the same time!!!
*Grabs popcorn*

GL to both teams, you've both had impressive seasons

First things first: thanks!

You've no idea how hard I tried to lose that game. It was all star week the week after, I was playing the Fibres again and I wanted the certain league win more than the Cup win and extra fixture. I've had one thought since about 3 games in; get home advantage.

I don't really enjoy the anti basketball I play, but its what we're good at. Its certainly not easy to watch, even for me.

And OPF can be a bit hit and miss but on a good day can beat anyone away from home.

I think the player he added changes that significantly as I don't think he's likely to be hit and miss now.

Looking at the two rosters my highest paid player would only be the 6th highest paid on the Fibres. (Getting my excuse in early there.) My backups are probably slightly better but that's not of significant value here. I'd make Fibres a big favourite if I was neutral, I don't think home court tips the scale enough to overcome the massive salary difference. It wouldn't have been as big if I'd been able to sign someone myself, but all season I kept missing players for various reasons. Mostly long term value.

Good luck js.

I do agree your backups are better. You've got HCA and better enthusiasm, so I think it's an uphill task for me. I was hoping to try and save some enthusiasm during the playoffs, but never felt like I could.

Good luck mate, it's definitely going to be close.

I needed every single one of them too, really tense at the end.

Gully’s C fouling out and Meadows going off injured swung the pendulum my way, fortunately for me.

Yeah, It’s not over yet but Gully needs to come up with something if he’s going to level the series 🙂

Starting PF and C fouling out, which of course was because of their inability to handle one player. I didn't see the whole game but was checking now and then, so I didn't see what happened to Meadows, who has been a huge difference for me this season over last, though I'm confused as to why, he doesn't really look that good. Finishing the game with three backups in wasn't ideal but it was largely self inflicted.

Obviously the end was disappointing. Getting back in front with, what was it, 30 seconds to go(?), was a surprise but I was never confident we'd stop you.

Glad I waited till today to post. All I could have managed last night was "bollocks."

Not sure what I can come up with. No one can be confident in a Final with a starter missing. Has anyone ever won a Final after losing the first game at home? I doubt it, it seems almost impossible to imagine. We'll show up though.

I actually didn’t really Easton fouled out, but that would have made a big difference. I know he’s valued defensively.

There’s a long way to go as yet, I’m not getting ahead of myself. I’ve got a tough game to win as yet.
