The ethical part/problem comes in when you have a mutual agreement for TIE and then the other player doesn't. That happened to me in D IV.......granted this isn't IV but that is a huge ethics problem. lol.

If it makes everyone feel better I have basicallly played my backups against the Hawks, Booshes, Gavano, and Booshes. I would not consider it "throwing" games". If I can't win then I focus on minutes management for game shape and training. If I were the Illusion I would have TIE against me. I could crunch and you could TIE and I would still loose by 25 at home!

I started out 1 and 5.. I agree that my additions of Abbondaza and Hinterwerth have been key.. so has my choice to move my future hall of famer/ original member Liang Minghao to a 6 man role.. Im not really decided on the whole TIE mutal thing.. I have done it before, but I played my best players and it wasnt a "Tank game"

It depends on your position as the owner of your team. I prefer to play to win so for every league game you should expect that a majority of my starters will be playing unless I am training in a particular area for a specific player. For example, next season I plan on playing Lowell Webber at PG so I can do some 1-on-1 training since it's takes too damn long to train the SF if you only play him at SF. So I have to do some specific training with Webber and chances are he might play a league game here and there at PG or PF depending on the area I am training.

Outside of that, I try to TIE when I know for sure my team has no shot but most of the time I'll still play my starters for league games and backups play the Cup/Scrim.

Strategy for the Cup might change next season though as I plan on using a few of my starters to get in the Cup games for the very purpose of bringing in the extra cash.

I try to play hard daily. No matter what I did, Booshes were going to beat me to a bloody pulp in their place. So, I went with what worked and stuck to it. Donghao has proven to be a DIV IV superstar.

Donghao is currently ranked 23rd on my charts for the Big 8 but as part of the whole league, he's ranked #50. Now remember, those are just my rankings based off playing time. He's been receiving a really good number of minutes so every week he's got a fair shot of moving up the rankings. I've been seeing his name quite a bit on my charts so he's been moving up. I'd say that he'll move up the rankings next season into the Top 20 for the Big 8 and possibly the Top 30 for the League.

you don't see it from the other side though. you think oh im gonna TIE because i know the Illusion will win no matter what, but what I'm thinking is that my team is definitely beatable, i can't afford to lose this game, i should play it normal just incase even though i could use the enthusiasm boost down the road. For example of risky it can be the Hawks went for the TIE we'll be fine aproach but they ended up getting 2 injuries and getting slammed in a game that put them down to 2nd place.

I guess I just see it differently maybe like Prov. Whether you TIE or normal or CT it is all part of the fun of the game. It could have worked the other way and he CT'd you and you lose and you think man why did he CT me now he is done with his enthusiasm the next two games. I don't see a problem with playing backups and going TIE. I did the same with Booshes the other day. I believe he normaled, I TIE'd and played backups. He won by 20. I expected the loss and felt minutes and enthusiasm were more important. It is all tied in with strategy in my opinion. Maybe I am missing something. By the way Tachenko, EC, Rip, Hawks feel free to TIE against me and not tell me I could use it.

I can see why he would want to know but I'm with you, Fella, in that I like the fun in not knowing.

I guess, I would also say that Gavano has no idea what I will do against him in the last game of the season....I may crunch to try to steal one somehow, or TIE with my backups and get my enthusiasm up for relegation hell! He got the easy win against me. He also could have asked what my plan was and I would have been honest and told him I was tanking it with my backups! When I was in DIV IV the same thing happened to me all the time.

well at first i was just mad that i wasted precious training minutes and enthusiasm, but normally i don't really care if people TIE and put in the trainees, i'm sure i did that earlier in my bb career
