yeah, meant to play normal. Scary that I only shot 50% from the free throw line. I imagine that I'll get the crap beat out of me by Reston tuesday now.

I like the idea of moving up a draft slot if you forfeit a game. How does everybody else feel? Also, anyone with a challenging Cup game this week?

I also like the idea of moving up a slot.

In regards to the cup... my opponent isn't challenging but I still wish he was a bot. (30349)

I like the new forfeit rule. It sucks to be on the other end of a forfeit, their should be a penalty.
Got a bot in the cup, no challenge there.

The new rule is better but not harsh enough. I would have to think of a better suggestion. A couple of seasons ago when I was tanking and i lost control of the schedule (this very league) I forfeited once or twice. I wanted #1 pick, which I got, but dropping me down to #2 nearly means nothing. Now think about dropping from 9-10, etc. If there were guaranteed good players coming, sure it would be a good penalty. Think ...Tim Duncan will be sitting there, etc ...but since the draft is a near crap shoot ....maybe something else can be done. Lose your first round pick perhaps? I am hoping this coincides with better drafting down the road (either easier to see top down players, or each league has an MVP+, etc). Just brainstorming as I type here ;)

Most of us if you notice don't spend money on drafting (and you shouldn't), so the penalty is really nothing compared to people spending money on the draft. The real thing here is .... don't forfeit and you won't have a problem, but would I give up forfeiting if it meant a league placement vs. losing a draft spot? No way. I have never done that, but just thinking about how some people forfeited to land #5 in the league, etc.

For the cup... I have a bot. Last year I lost in the first game of the CUP. I sure wish it was to NBBA team or something cool, but ...I believe it was against a D5 team ...for real.

My suggestion has always been that, for purposes of the draft, the number of forfeits by the manager should be the very first criteria, and then record and so on. So if you forfeit a game, you'll be picking 16th if nobody else does. It would need to reset when a team's manager changes, so as not to saddle a new player with harsh penalties for the predecessor's actions, but other than that it seems like it works.

Of course, or they could just fix lucky fan aggressiveness and then just force five lucky fans to play the game.

I like just losing a pick all together. maybe starts with losing your 3rd for first offense, then 2nd round if second offense. If you make it to 4 forfeits, you are drawn and quartered in real-life. If you make it to 5, your body parts go up on a firing range, just in case.

Agreed on the draft and spending money, once you get past Div IV it appears to be a waste of time. The one improvement that I would really like to see is that the formula used to generate players is identical across the board.

Now I'm playing a D.III team in the cup. Lucky me.

The higher the division level that you are in, the lower the overall skill levels of draftable players.
