Just had a look at the draw of Koopasaurus.

Koops is currently the top ranked Aussie team and is also the Aussie GM, he has a really soft round robin draw.

He is currently aiming for his 3rd Tournament win in a row in Australia and if he doesnt sell down he will win all his round robin games and have a high enough points difference to ensure that he will rank in the top 3 for the beginning of the knock out stages in B3.

Currently with a $850 K roster he has a history of buying up when it matters.

Historically to make the final 32 you need to win a minimum of 7 of the 8 round robin games, although in some seasons 2 or 3 teams have got into the final 32 with only 6 wins and in season 26, 3 teams with 7 wins missed out on making the knock out stage.

This historical fact means that past winners "I love Tehran" & "Mloty Stargard" who have each lost a game despite having 900K plus rosters, will have to win each of their last 6 round robin games to have a chance of making the knockout stage

Thanks for the update, in the end though it looks like it was a nice win for him against a quality opponent away from home.

Quite good rankings from both teams

darkonza (Mloty Stargard) was good enough to reply to a bbmail I sent him.

He is of the belief that the GDP is too strong at this level and has made the results a bit dependent on luck (correctly using the GDP)

Im glad he won tonight though, he seems like a nice bloke and he is obviously a fine manager.

I also couldnt help noticing that you had a pretty decent team yourself which I guess is underlined by your number 8 ranking in the world.

What chance do you give yourself in this tournament and who are the teams that you believe are most likely to still be in action come the quarter finals?

Havent looked into the teams yet. I plan to get to the playoffs, but from there its hit or miss. I lost in first round last season after extremely close game and I thought I was a better team. Also, I think a winner won by a combine 20 points or something like that and was one shot away from dropping in first round as well. GDP and parity between top 32 teams in the world makes the tournament based a lot on luck.

I will try to achieve as much as I can but no money to strenghten the team so probably wont be able to go all the way

well this is my 3rd appearance in a row in the B3..in season 27 mine was one of the 3 teams to have failed to make it to the knockouts despite winning 7 games.last season i made it to the top 32 but lost horribly against mloty in the very first round.
this season my campaign started with a close defeat against on of the big fish, blackwolves.
this time my schedule is pretty tough including facing two teams ranked in the top 10.given that I am yet to play against los dragones and of course your team,my chances of making it to the top 32 are almost zero.but still I am gonna try my best and win atleast 4 of the next 5 games.

Is Inside Isolation a useless offense?

No disrespect to Oman Dominator but being on my home court and him having only 6 players of any ability I was expecting a 30 point plus easy win rather than a close shave

4 games in which is the halfway point in the round robins and I thought id have another look at how the immortal past winners are fairing in B3

4 wins

ESV Laim (Deutschland) PD +150 (8th spot in rankings)

3 win (will need to win all 4 remaining round robin games to have any likely chance of making the final 32)

BC Hostivar (Ceska Rep) PD + 70 (42nd spot in rankings)
Mloty Stargard (Polska) PD +63 (47th spot in rankings)
Nitra Corgons (Slovensko) PD +53 (50th spot in rankings)
I love Tehran (Iran) PD +46 (52nd spot in rankings

2 wins (Even should they win all 4 remaining games it is highly unlikely to make the final 32)

Los Dragones (Argentina) PD +79 (69th spot in rankings)

1 win

BC Dingo (Turkiye) PD -69
Dionysus (China) PD -124

4 losses

Sant Mateu (Espana) PD -89
Venomous Scorpions (Iran) PD -116
Pirulos (Espana) PD -182
-=Defenders=- Moldova PD -246
