That's the feature of buying a player back. It resets his time on your team to 0.

It's an additional penalty to buying the player back, it's an intended feature and has been that way for quite some time.

2 I already paid for my error (lost money between cost and revenue), why another sanction?

Because the initial transfer tax penalty wasn't enough to disincentivize people from bidding up their own players to simulate a bidding war and risk getting stuck buying the player back. So they added the additional penalty of resetting the time on the team so that you can't immediately re-list the player for full value.

What are this rule for?
In my opinion, if the time is not reset, you can just buy the player back at a low cost whenever you think the selling price is not high enough, and keep trying until you sell at a high price.

Who is protected by this rule?
Buyer.
Imagine this: every time you are about to win a bid on a player, the seller suddenly bids and buys the player back, so you have no choice but to give up and look for the next target.
If this happens often, it will definitely cause a lot of complaints.

btw, I guess it would be difficult to distinguish between a wrong initial price and price manipulation.
