How many starting positions are you setting in the lineup?
Since S30 news (223143.36) said,
Starting with the first scrimmages of this season, blank lineups are finally a thing of the past. Some lazy managers had started sending out incomplete lineups to their coaches who did their best to manage around this incomplete information, but it didn’t really feel like basketball anymore, and the fans started complaining. Now, if a manager sets a lineup with three or more blank starter positions, the coach will declare the lineup invalid and make up a new lineup using a fuller roster.

I just had my starting SG switched somehow for todays scrimmage. Dude didnt even play. All lineups were correct, no faulty ones. Wtf

coach picks from the depth chart

never had a problem like this with it though

I think it is normal.
Jeronimas Aronaitis (54120401) is obviously weaker than other players.

First time this ever happened to me and Ive certainly played weaker players over better players many times due to minutes reasoning during scrimmages, with the same coach settings. I'd understand if the coach decided to override the starter on "Let Coach Decide", didn't know this can happen on "Coach picks from the depth chart" too. Stupid. Starters should be starters. I wish we in general had more control over players minutes and it wasnt up to rng

In my experience, it's fine if the starter is "slightly weaker" than the backup.
Next time, if you're not sure, you can test it in a pickup game.

I think that "Coach picks from the depth chart" only almost guarantees that players won't play in positions different from the lineup.
