Glad GOAT is proudly represented by 3 all stars this year.
Stern and Padricelli are both MVP candidates, while I am proud of the progress of Frey making his first all star appearance- A player I drafted.

Also, I think this may be the furthest I have ever made it in the USA tournament.

And my starting center goes down for 2 weeks again the very first minute he played after the previous 2 week injury. That'll be 8 games without him. Don't stand much chance against stronger teams without him.

On the bright side, 3 of the best 4 scores for the Great 8 are ours!

Center goes down in a scrimmage. Out for a week. So disappointing

I think its possible top 4 teams in the Big 8 are all better than the #1 team in the Great 8.
Looking at the rosters, the standings, seeding for playoffs, etc- there are no good options in the great 8.
I am scared to play at home to team AO in the playoffs; but I am also scared to go on the road to the Eagles.
Steel Guardians record and PD speak for itself. Such a tough conference as all 4 teams could easily win the whole thing.
Problem is, its going to be tough- and whoever does win may not have good enthusiasm for the finals- which could lead to a Great 8 champion.

Yeah the Big 8 playoffs is going to be war. Team AO really suprised me by beating me, the steel guardians, and GOAT. Any four of us can win. It's really interesting. I've never had a season where all 4 teams in a conference can go to the finals. It's exciting. I can't wait for the playoffs to start.

Big 8 playoffs should be fun. Whoever wins the conference, I hope wins it all. More than anything, so we can get a tough team out of our conference, and it just seems like the top 4 teams have been around for a while, or that's how it feels.
In the end, I think the finals will be competitive both ways, but just a guess. Enthusiasm will play a role, but maybe having to win two out of three will count for something, however way you want to view it.

I just want to play in D.II one time before I die. Is that too much to ask?

Lol, this board has been relatively quiet but now is a good time to get some chatter.
Now that the game is over, I can be honest.
1) I am really scared of AO lol. They just beat the top 3 teams..in a ROW; so no fluke- something about them...
2) I was considering losing the last game intentionally, to get the 2 seed, just to avoid AO.
3) Then I revisited how good the Eagles are and I was confused as to what to do.
4) Then I realized that if I lost tonight, I would have to play the Eagles on the road as I would drop to the 3 seed.
5) By the time I thought through the scenarios, I had a headache.
--So I gave up and just said I will put my team out there and hope for the best regardless of who I play and where. No matter what, each matchup is going to be tough. Any one of the 4 teams can win...so just pray its your team.

Meanwhile, as we war in the Big 8. It looks like Wolf Dogs, will have a relatively safe road to the finals. Build up enthusiasm and game shape as he prepares to play the worn out team that emerges from the Big 8 lol

Good analysis from your point of view. For me, it's a tale of two seasons. I thought I had HCA locked up by starting 13-0. Then my starting center went down the scrimmage after the all star game. He was out for a week, but his game shape wasn't the same. I then went on to lose to every elite team I played after that, and finish the last 9 games 5-4. I'm glad I somehow ended up with the 2 seed and HCA if I make it to the league finals. It's going to be tough every game after this, but that's the fun. Can't wait to get it started.

On the other side, I don't think the Wolf Dogs have it as easy as we thought. They lost tonight to the Leopards, who are the 2 seed. So it won't be as easy.

I don't remember exactly, but I think there was always something going in my favor for all 3 of those games. Like an opposing player being injured, or coming back from an injury and having low game shape. Me getting to play at home that time around, or something.

This time around in the playoffs will definitely be a lot tougher. For the most part, looks like everyone is near full strength and having to go on the road won't be easy.
