Yes buzzerbeater, was developed even with the help of hattrick so there are similiarities, but:

1. buzzerbeater ist not looking like hattrick, concentrating on 1 important skill on every position and 2-3 less important skills. here every skill is important everytime, and each position has several mainskills. So just focussing on 1-2 training types isn't that effective. When you go for training guards, you should train Jumpshot, Pressure, Passing, Outside shooting and "1 on 1" or handling(normally i would say 1 on 1 is the better choiche, but single position trainers could gain benefit from the handling training for boosting driving and handling.

2. mostly your first pick matters, it is rare to get good player in second round outside of bot leagues. Since your league is active, and you are quite late on the draft i wouldn't invest just 10k(since i believe your opposition isn't that experienced, and will make some bad choiches or low information picks). the strategy then depends also on how much point you have at the end of the season(how much do you have right now?).

I currently have 7 points for the draft. I haven't invested for these, they were there when I got the team. I'm planning to invest though. I have to ask; why does it say a group demonstration will only feature 1-ball and 2-ball prospects? That seems like a waste of 10 points if those scrubs projected to go late 2nd at best are the only guys i'll get to see with that option, unless there's something i'm not getting and those 'scrubs' can actually be worth drafting on a regular basis...

As for the first question, I think what I was trying to ask is how good can a player get salary wise before he becomes "unaffordable" for most managers in the market. In other words, how long should I keep training prospects for before I "Cash in" and start training a new lot?

In most drafts out of the 48 players about 40 are worthless and only two or three can be sold for more than was spent on scouting them. Do not think of the draft as an investment unless you have one of the top picks or are in an inactive league or have incredible luck.

As a beginner trying to train for profit is way too hard but if you really insist you will need three 18 year olds with superstar potential and just hammer up their OD for an entire season or six guys and train jump shot for an entire season. I think it is a bad idea.

Never spend $40k a week, $10k a week is the best investment but $20k is what I have always done. Do not actually spend ANY points yet! Keep them until you know how to use them. Long topic.

Your initial impression of players, the grey balls, is so far from the truth as to be totally worthless. I always do the scouting combine. Then I just do a count. If there are enough 18 year olds of the right height in the 1 and 2 ball category then I do it, if not then I don't.

There are no unaffordable players. But there are players who are too expensive for most teams. You don't need to worry about that. It would take at least four seasons of bad training to wreck a player that way. I would suggest never "cashing in". The most fun thing about this game is making your own players great.

i think it really depends on how long you can stay on line, buying and selling players is still the fastest way to make money, market values change constantly - as a rule of thumb, prices generally become higher when playoffs are about to start and prices go lower when they are about to end.

training players can also be profitable, it can also yield good profit especially if you concentrate on one and two position
training but they take a lot of time to do, try to train allstar (potential) at the very least, they are easier to sell and look for 18 year old prospects if you want to do this - guards usually have higher value than big men so you have the right idea - if you really want to maximize your sale, i suggest training Outside defense they have tremendous value because they are very few in the transfer list

never spend on the draft what you cant afford 10k is the most i have spent a week on the draft! if you are looking for prospects count 3 days after the draft and you will see a lot of teams selling their draft picks, since you are new team, try selling most of your players and converting them to cash you will need a lot of cash to be competitive, good luck to you.

id consider training 3 or 6 guys you start with while you take a look at the market for 18-21 year olds and see what is valuable and what is not. id go as low as training a "star" if they start on your team and are under 21.

you dont necessarily need to spend money on good looking 18 year olds to make money if that is your aim for now. its possible to buy a player (say 19 or 20 years old) with a low salary for 50k, train them for a season and sell them on for 400k+/-. while you do that you can get to grips with your finances and start investing in your arena.

i personally think 18 year olds are far too overpriced and that you can get some great 19 and 20 year olds to add value to.

if you want to train a player to keep for a while, again star potential is fine. My player Bukus was the first trainee i bought and is still with me as a bench player now.

scouting is a lottery and even when you think you have a winning draftee on paper, they turn up and they have holes in their game that will take a season to fix and that will make you want to cry! if you are coming in late consider saving any scouting points for next season or better still the cash to buy a draftee you can see properly!
