It will decrease his overall passes. Driving allows him to create better shots for himself but he will still pass the ball if he thinks, that his teammate will have a better shot off his pass. I think at the end of the day it will increase the overall possibilities to have a good shot.

My PG's Driving is only one level lower than passing/handling and he is still among the best passers in my league.

if ur pg become ur team's go to scorer, then driving will encourage him to take the shot

however if there are others scorer, driving will encourage him to drive and kick, its only up to the ball receiver to put the ball in to the basket to determine the assist.
