Mate when are you going to make your move and promote.

Was your team any worse placed 2 seasons ago than HA & Smeltz who have since both promoted?

Thought Yodas accountancy line was cute

That was cause you got lucky some n00b bought it.

Otherwise you just continue paying salary on those players until you get lucky...by then you could have made more money by not having that player on your payroll to begin with

wow the Big 8 is tight. 7 out of 8 teams with a winning record and any one would be in the finals if they were on the Great 8 side of the draw. Any team that gets relegated is going to be unlucky.

Great to see my fans return, and nearly sell out my game. It's been a while coming, but finally some revenue is coming my way again.

Some good upsets tonight to. None were better than SVM taking down DAS though. Big win in the context of the season for SVM. I'm not sure if i can class my win as an upset, but it was a good home win none the less. Sainstars took down Jerries, and looks to be making a late push to avoid relegation and will need to cause some upsets on the run home to avoid it.

PNR was a massive beneficiary from LG going bot as his margin is now greatly improved while others from the Big 8 had to be satisfied with just a 25-0 walkover. Given how the season is playing out, this could have big ramifications for the end of season results. With just 7 games to go, it's going to be interesting to see which manager has the tactics and strategy to avoid relegation.

The fight to avoid relegation and for the finals in the Big 8 is going to make it tough for GT & HA.

Plans I had of taking most of the remaining games easy and training a few players out of position will be shelved.

Too many good teams who with the incentive of survival and the excess use of enthusiam, each pose the capability of ruining the chances of HA or GT has of gaining top spot.

Logically Sainstars who are 3 games down plus percentage should lay down and save some cash for div3, but they look very capable of winning games.

Great win by SVM over DAS.

Doesnt seem that long ago that this forum was inudated with posts which suggested that the competition was going to be tighter in the Great 8 than the Big 8

Hey guys, not that I want to put down the Great 8 because there are at least two very strong teams there but wow, look at the records. 7th in the Big 8 my buddy ezlife has 8 wins, as many as Roswell who is 3rd in the Great 8.

However perhaps there is some strategy there in the Great 8 to match the fear in the Big 8. The Great 8 has a bot so tremell and Jerries are safe from automatic relegation and probably the best tactic for them is to hang onto their money and spend up big for the relegation series. This takes the pressure off the higher teams as well so they can also have cheaper rosters and still end up with the seed they desire.

Here is my evidence for both my beliefs.

Drunken All-Stars vs. South Victoria Menstrals 107 - 115 Both teams played at the same effort level.
Mangoloids vs. BroomeTime 70 - 101 BroomeTime put more into this game than Mangoloids.
Nevada Saucers vs. Melbourne Redbacks 79 - 93 Melbourne Redbacks put more into this game than Nevada Saucers.
SJOD vs. Glenelg Tigers 51 - 90 Both teams played at the same effort level.
Jerries vs. Saintstars 79 - 99 Saintstars put more into this game than Jerries.
Chumunga vs. hopelessly addicted 35 - 84 Both teams played at the same effort level.
South Brisbane Vultures vs. Eggplantpopolopolous 106 - 87 South Brisbane Vultures put more into this game than Eggplantpopolopolous.
Lara Giants vs. peaceNroll 33 - 155 BOT

So you can see that the Big 8 dominated, but you can also see that they put a lot more effort in in general and only SBV in the Great 8 feel the pressure because they need to pass DAS to get the crucial top seed.

Finally it looks like an impressive upset by the Menstrals but a pity for them they have so many strong teams around them, I still can't see them making the finals, but as HA correctly says, at this time two seasons ago no-one thought he would either.

Just an insight into my game v NS. Yeah i put more effort in, but i also rested my no.1 C who is also my best inside player offensively and defensively. I'm still trying to balance Training and winning, so i'm gonna have to make some tough calls soon as to which one i favour. However, I feel that if i had gone TIE and played my no.1 C i still could have pulled out the W.

Don't underestimate the possible moves that those of us fighting to avoid relegation in the Big 8 could make.

Each of the 4 teams in the Big 8 dangling on 8 wins, only has 7 chances for survival left

Jerries and Chumunga will be absolutely cashed up and bursting with enthusiam, waiting for the relegation series

The games where the 4 teams play against each other are going to be absolutely vital

TIE on HA (please)

Is part of the Chumunga Masterplan, to blind the opposition with watermelon juice?
