Ha, sorry bud wasn't a direct dig, think my roster would be at least 300k+ more than yours so I would expect my boys to run it though :)

@bains - nice try, HSD next on my list, assuming I get through that one I am gunning for ya!

Big 8

Quarter Final 1

Doncaster Flames (11-11) v Yarra Park Bears (18-4)

After romping their way in to top of the conference by 6 wins, the Bears were red hot favourites heading into the quarter final against the Flames who kind of fell over the line into the playoffs ahead of the Bulls on PD. The Flames threw everything they had at the Bears who wisely put in less effort in preparation for a deep playoff run. It wasn't to be for the Flames who were blown out 17-34 in the 2nd quarter and 20-32 in the 3rd. A big final quarter helped them keep the final score a respectable 97-110.

The Bears move on and look to gather some momentum in their bid for promotion.

Quarter Final 2

Porirua (11-11) v Lewisham Wombats (12-10)

With the Wombats having crawled into 2nd spot after a flying start of the season, it is clear they had little intention of trying to make a run at the title. Both teams put in the same effort so i can only assume both sides CT'd as it would be stupid for the Wombats to not have. A poor 1st half for the home fans who saw Porirua race away to an irretrievable 22 point lead at the main break. A better 2nd half for the home team, however the visitors move forward after a 90-73 win.

I think Porirua may find it hard going in the Semi-final had they CT'd this game. If it wasn't hard enough to beat the Bears already.

Great 8

Quarter Final 3

Whompas Donkeys (14-8) v Gisborne Gladiators (19-3)

The Gladiators finished with the top record in the league and the right to HCA throughout the post-season. With the teams having met 4 times already this season prior to the QF, the Gladiators were hot favourites as they had won the previous 4 encounters. The Donkeys threw the kitchen sink at their opposition, putting in more effort, but it proved fruitless as the Gladiators flexed their muscle by winning every quarter on route to a 71-116 win. The biggest win for this round.

The Gladiators managed to save some enthusiasm for the massive SF clash to come.

Quarter Final 4

High School Drop-outs (16-6) v GC Vikings (18-4)

After losing top seed on the run home the Vikings have something to prove in their QF. On a fortunate note the Drop-outs lost some players prior to the QF making it a much easier match for the favoured vikings. Unfortunately for the fans, what was touted as a big clash between two contenders ended up a fizzer due to the sales. The Vikings put in less effort and were able to control minutes as they cantered to a 25 point win. 71-96.

Both Vikings and Gladiators banked vital enthusiasm in preparation for the huge SF.
