I know the answer. The answer is that only the players selected on the offensive roles for each position are the players that get full training. So if you play your Center as defending on PG then he will still get all his training as a center and none as a PG. Playing a player in a different position for defence only doesn't count towards training at all, only the original offensive position is used for training.

Thanks for the explanation. That's what I needed to know.

Note to moderators:

This still needs to be accessible to all players, not simply those who remember the explanation.

the problem here, is that you dont get training in the game. Training occurs early friday morning with the trainer. So you can have a C play as a PG all week long. He will not learn any guard skills during this time. However come friday morning, your C walks into the gym with the trainer and he learns Inside defense.

So he plays PG on defense, but learns ID in training.

While it may seem counter intuitive, if training was based on your offensive position for certain skills and your defensive position for other skills it would be over complicated for new players. If its just offense its simple and for the reasons explained above better than being based on the defensive position.

So why don't you celebrate Easter? are you a JW?

This would make me laugh if it weren't so mind-bogglingly ignorant. The over-whelming majority of the people on this planet are not Christians.
