"red" division already is stacked. it's the toughest conference in all of the division II leagues for canada.

ya REALLY stacked would be better ;)
unfortunately that works against teams in this conference making it even harder to promote.

it shouldn't be easy, but a lot of factors of a stronger division clearly tip things in favour of other conferences. that's all i was trying to point out subtly without getting into details, theories, or offending anybody :)
several teams that have promoted over the past few seasons from the other 3 leagues in division 2, or the other conference in our division, may not have promoted being in ours. that's all. it will probably continue to follow that trend for as long as our conference is arguably the toughest in division 2 in canada.

true. its much harder to keep a good team if fans are unhappy about results because you play very strong opponents. Makes progress much slower, but it is just another obstacle that needs to be taken care of. At least after you advance from such competitive conference you know that you are ready for naismith

not necessarily ready. it is very difficult to stay up once there. the financial differences between naismith and division II i have found to have a very large gap. if you can find a way to come out of our conference with enough quality, depth, and finances to ensure you stay up, after managing to get throw the conference and league we are in. i will find that extremely impressive from whomever is able to do it, and would like to get information from them on how they did. especially as i'm now on 4 seasons back down here after spending 8 out of 9 seasons prior in the top flight.

I think I won our league at the perfect time, right before the teams on your side of the conference all started to have very good teams. My side of the conference has always been pretty weak and I think I was the first team to win DII.1 from my side of the conference since I was there, and I think that was 7 or 8 seasons.
Once you jump to Naismith, you make so much more money and my last 2 seasons you have been guaranteed victories because other teams have gone up with teams good enough to win their league and are not ready for Naismith, so they sell their team off and just try to collect money. My first season in Naismith I finished fifth and this year sixth, but a real limited payroll most of the season. There's a lot of D2 teams that have a higher salary than I do right now, but aren't sitting on as much money. Right now I have about 470k in salary, but am making anywhere up to about 250k a week in profit.
So build a team that can compete in Naismith, try to have cash in case you need a player for the playoff, and have a huge arena so you can really collect some serious cash.

yeah, the gap is (seemingly) pretty huge in terms of finances and team quality.
The greatest of all time.

i have noticed some teams selling off their players and even going bot in the naismith. i don't ever remember that really happening in all the seasons i was up there, thus it was a much more difficult fight to stay up there not having a few 'gimmes' during the season.
i would love to be making 250k a week in profit with the roster i have! that is not going to happen down in our division with any hope of competing for promotion :(
