well if it makes you feel any better, I also suffer from this BuzzerBeater curse that I always end of in the stronger conference whenever I promote/demote, every single freaking time. I ended up with the runner-up instead of the champ this time in NBBA but Jason is on the other side (I am assuming he's the only tanking nbba team).

I missed almost all of the first quarter of my first game in II.1. Looking at the scores and stats, so did most of the players on both teams, and the fans are jealous that they didn't. 12-10, with two fast offenses, has got to be almost as exciting as watching paint grow or grass dry.

Tonight's game, meanwhile, is a suck of a different sort. My guys are missing shots contested by the backup SF and I have fewer rebounds as a team 16 minutes into the game than the opposing PF has alone. 11 fouls already, too, which was about my season average last season. Ugh.

Amazing how your team seems to turn it all around in the 2nd half.

Yeah, it helps when I score more points in each of the 3rd and 4th quarters than I did in the whole first half or my opponent did in the whole second half. I enjoy BB but I've got to say it's ridiculous - I think it's probably a fair result all things considered, but the way we get there was insane in that way that only BB can attain. I was just glad I didn't break their starting SF for longer than the game; I hate causing injuries that last because I'm a caring individual, by which I mean that I'd care that their future opponents would benefit from my team's pluckiness.

I suppose now I should have named my team the Waggin' Mutombos, though, since I currently have the top four shotblockers in the league. We may not be good offensively, but we drag you down to our level and beat you with ... hell if I know, but hopefully it keeps working. ;)

See if we can keep that streak going. First half was going well until a 12-0 run against in the last four minutes. My new one-year rental guard who hadn't fouled out in three seasons is looking like he's not going to make it 24 minutes again. Of course, BB being what it is, it could still be either team winning the game by 20+ by the time it's over.

Nothing like accidentally leaving your best player off of the lineup in a game that is a toss up. Gonna mess up training this week too

What is going on. It is 8 pm, a Tuesday night and the games are not underway? Is it an apocalypse? Or just holiday laziness?

It looks like tomorrow night is a preview of the probable Finals series, with Unedible Nut hosting ATL the Hawks. Not sure I'm in the right frame of mind to analyze the matchup since both teams had 20 point leads against me (ATL in the first freaking quarter) and both games had my team missing shots to tie it in the last five seconds of the game. If I did have to decide, I'd say the HCA is probably enough to wing it to Unedible Nut, keeping their perfect record alive, but I've been around BB enough that there'd have to be something in the play by play about one of the players posting their nutsack up on a partially-shaved goat to actually end up surprising me. (And if anyone is upset they're not one of the "probable finalists", they should really try not to be three or more games back ten games into the season). ;)

In terms of a nearly-midseason review, I'm pretty happy with where my team is. The stretch of four straight losses in the league, capped by getting CT'd out of the Cup was not pleasant, but only one of the losses was by double digits and two of them had chances to tie miss, so all in all it's pretty good. I'm also happy that four of my players are in the top five in made three pointers, and I've got the top three guys in blocked shots (with two guys in both groups),and my streak of four seasons with better three point shooting than two point shooting seems safe so far. Still have a chance at finishing in the top four and avoiding a relegation series, which would be a great season in my book.
