My gameshape wasn't atually that bad, everyone was strong or proficient if I remember correctly. That said, I had played each of them full time in all three games that week - I've often wondered if the minutes played already that week would affect their ability.
But in reality a few things killed me
1 - Two foul outs leading to a lucky fan. Like Jason said, I think the GE factored that in from the start and had I kept even a 6k backup in my roster that I likely would have won.
2 - Larry Spurlock. With the NT's starting PG back in my lineup I would have been fine because I woulnd't have had to...
...3 Play Shawn Bowens at SF. This worked against Eugene Register guard (The number one team in the country) and I beat him on less effort, but I played LI. Inside Iso seemed to miss Bowens at SF and defaulted to Bello, who while he was the second best player on the court, is a far cry from Bowens.
All in all, I guess I learned to play the game less rashly, using only 7 players leaves opportunities like this for a team that I should have beat to win if they bring their A game and like Jason said, the perfect storm is present. Just wish I hadn't lost a cup for that lesson. I will always be the only team to ever lose the cup to a D2 team haha
