Pilipinas put more into this game than Danmark.

Someone once told me I needed to face fear to get over it, and I thought well why not take a step further and cut my fear into little pieces then set my fear on fire then throw the hot ash of my fear into a lake and then poison the lake. Simple!

Yup we were away and against an undefeated team. A loss would put us out of the elimination round considering our unlucky schedule. So we need to win every match πŸ™‚
Your Israel is growing amazing. πŸ‘

Update on our consolation journey.
Despite the difficult calendar we managed to win every match until today. We played at a great level and I am fully satisfied and grateful for all the effort you all are playing with minutes shape and training.
Now since pro shot is busy I will do some review with tactical feedback on our previous matches.

Philippines vs Croatia 97-84
First match very difficult because I expected more effort by croatia who was undefeated and with easy matches after us. Their roster is well balanced but considering our home court we decided to go safe inside using low post to avoid their possible gdp on look inside and to allow our backcourt to be involved more. The outcome was great, despite their crunch we abused of their 2-3 using the low pace of low post to catch the best shooter.

Philippines @ Denmark 98-74
Toughest match in our calendar, going away in Denmark with the second straight undefeated team. Our shape was not brilliant but we had the right men available for my preferred tactic. We analyzed their big men and despite their salaries we identified their low out Def punishing them with patient. Belisario and falcis dominated the big guy salaried Valstrup forcing him to go fouled out and that destroyed they iso. Our 3-2 locked the perimeter so they had no road for going back in business.

Philippines @ Sakartvelo 111-73
Strange match. Georgia was better shaped in key men and had a legit perimeter scoring volume so I decided to replicate our previous idea putting three guards together with Ruyeras and Rios to attack inside. Their coach was used to risk all in with gdp and zones so we chose ptb because it was less probable to be hit by gdp and was good against any kind of zone. Luckily they chose box and one 😌
We didn't have enough guts to do tie, considering shape, opponents coach craziness and the fact that a L would have meant to be eliminated.
Mvp: Howell Rios

Philippines vs Macau 128-83
Nothing to say here, their manager was becoming bot so it was easy to clinch gdp and whatever.
Mvp: Howell Rios

Philippines @ Cyprus 72-57
Today's match is the most difficult to comment. First of all it was probably my worst match as PHI coach since even if I had some clues I wasn't able to figure out their tactical risks and the result is a low scored game but luckily a good win. Game shape was really weird, we had great minutes but the outcome was our best scorers respectable (kapasilan ruyeras belisario Leonardo Bernal) and our best defenders proficient. I was really unsure on how to play but I decided something strange, to use a motion hoping in their 23 zone and setting up the starters as our best defenders with some scoring effort on Falcis and Rios and the bench with focus on our big men. It can seem out of logic to pick up a motion to involve big men but if the flow is good enough often on the big men side you can find the best matchups. In fact Rios and gavadan especially did lots of damage and we were able to overcome thanks to their patient too, who projected them to a low scoring game and they fell down against Falcis who annihilated on defense their best shooter. We picked up a victory allowing 29 offensive rebounds and that's really impressive, considering the 131 zone, the crunch, the home court disadvantage and half gdp clinched, as well as our overall fg% 42%.
I am disappointed with myself because a LP/Li or ptb would have been all clearly better but yeah we're one match away from going on the next round!
Mvp: Churchill Falcis
