I agree, if the transfer is completed you have to pay the tax, if not you pay the same tax on the starting price discouraging the unfair (but legal) behaviour

To make the game little more like real life would be nice never allow of your roster on the market, a rule like maximum players on transfer list (3 or 5) and minimum players in the roster (5 or 8)?

I suggested a looong time ago, that auctions should only start at an aking price of $1 - that would lead to a much better (fair) prices, as all players would be sold for their market value. Add an autobid-feature and you have the perfect solution.

I put my player on auction for 1$

Then setup my autobid on him for 1 000 000

du?

Putting players on auction for 1$ is as worse as autobid

will be hours and days without players on transfermarket (interesting ones) and when they came out ... what do you think?

Prices will rocket up even more?

Howl to the Moon, you won't regret it.

1. I am all for autobid and autobid.

Being able to set up your maximum price (willingness to pay - WTP) would have plenty of advantages. Imagine autobid working just like e-bay auctions (continuous second-price).

First of course it would mean that bidding would be a lot less time consuming (waking up at night for a little bid war, eh?). A user could just set up his WTP and wait.

And second i suppose that autobid would somewhat diminish the problem of the price being related to the time when the auction ends i.e. day and hour of the week. Everyone could take part in an auction, even if not logged in. So maby prices would not depend on the number of players currently scouring the TL. Maby day-trading days would finally be over.

2. I would never qualify puting players on TL "above market value" as cheating.

Every player has a rooster with a certain number of players. For every player a owner has a price he would always sell that player for (Willingness to Accept - WTA). By puting those players on TL at sometimes high prices (high WTA) they are merely checking if there is a team out there that would want such a player for this amount of money (i.e. checking if there exists a user whose WTP for such player is higher than the owner's WTA). If so, everyone is happy.

WTP for players differs among teams. Imagine I train guards, I just finished a season of Passing training and I decide that one of my trainees should be trained no more. I am looking for a trainable replacement. Probably I would be willing to pay (WTP) more for a young prospect with high passing as I know that it would take a lot of time before I start training passing again. And maby I find a guy that suits my training needs so well that I would gladly pay 600K$ for him even if the "market value" is said to be 400k$. He is willing to sell for 600$k, I am willing to pay that. No cheating here.
Same applies for example when you need a certain build of a certain position for a certain tactics or you want a player from your own country.

Players are heterogenous, they differ a lot. Twelve skills, potential, age, height, experience, nationality. Even not taking into account user's needs and time of the week effect it would take a lot more of analysing to determine player's market value than just what is written in this text in your player's page. The final price determines the market value.

Puting players constantly on TL is not flawless as well. First, you need to put in an effort. Second, everyone from your league can study your player's skills and use it against you.

The only reason why any regulations could be useful is the protection of new players. When you start a game you just have to make some purchases (that is way no-trade at the beginning is not a good option) and not knowing the game one can overpay. And overpaying in the beginning can successfully discourage from BB. But it is just the case of players let's say up to 300k, no more (I assume players able to pay above that have enough knowledge to be rational, at least to some extent). Further curtailing day trading combined maby with a good TL guide for newbies (showing for example how a 39 year old player drops during a season) could resolve this issue. Or just restrict the buying price to a certain amount for the first few weeks (50k, 100k, relative to salary or TSP).

Calm down I wasn't attacking anyone

Obviously it is legal, not cheating, this was the main question, then we are discussing if there is something that can be changed about this (or maybe not).
Actually, reading opinions from other users ( Francouzinho was very interesting) I'm somehow changing my mind.
In the last 4 seasons I was a bit pissed off having always at least one team in my division making money this way. I'm not so lazy, I just prefere to train and manage tactics, simply don't like staying on the market too long.
But I see now the game is better when it gives more options to be played, there are already too many constraints (and new ones added continuously) and this one is not really necessary.

Maybe something can be done to avoid having teams without players ore with too few players, to be more like RL. You can sell all the players you need, providing to save at least a minimum roster to avoid walkover. Or everything colud remain unchanged, it won't harm anyone.

Bidding on your own players should be impossible anyways. I always felt highly frustrated when I was going to war in an late auction and the current owner jumped the queue and bought the player back.
