Yeah, I thought I could get him without a Normal, barely lost. Looking to bounce back next game though. Bit of a shoutout to Preston Colon of LA Lakers, 29.3/18.7 through 3 games is nothing to complain about. Might have to go talk to LeBron about his 0 assists though.

Question for Bubbles (yes that is what i'm going to call you) or anyone else...

What exactly does it mean when you see the message:
ExplosiveBubbleWrap is celebrating the appointment of Brandon Moreland to the United States National Team.

Obviously our players aren't good enough for the actual team, is it just that they are being flagged/bookmarked by the national team as 22 year old players?

It's for scouting purposes. They call your player up briefly, check his skills, and then take him off the team. They do it at the start of each year so it doesn't affect enthusiasm. If I'm wrong, I'm sure EBW could correct me or expand, but I'm fairly certain that's what it's for. If you're interested in learning more about the NT, I recommend joining the offsite; it's full of cool bros like me and EBW.

Pretty much what Birdzilla said! At the beginning of the season the NT manager and U21 NT manager (That was me for four seasons) scout the up and coming players for their teams. U21 NT coach checks all the 18-21 year olds and the NT scouts any 22+ players with MVP+ potential players with certain minimum salaries. They are not on the actual team, as they get dropped right away, but shows you that they are being checked up on.

NOW FOR THE REAL BUSINESS:

4-0! 4-0! 4-0! Who's the number one seed? I'm the number one seed! National Television win on the road. Woot woot!

P.S. Do join the offsite if you are interested. You just need to register and I can approve you account if you bbmail me or let me know in this thread that you registered. It's v chill.

Cool thanks for the info Birdy and Bubbles, very helpful. I can't say I expect to have anyone good enough for the NT because I'm training 2 MVPs and 2 HOFs - going for depth not super-duper-stardom. Maybe that is frowned upon and seen as wasting talent but seems to be working pretty well for the time being.

Good luck to you all and looking forward to our interleague matchups.

Murumets has always been a huge part of the team since I started in S.26, but I feel like his time is gonna start winding down soon. I think this season is going to be my last real push for playoffs and if it doesn't go well, I'm going to go through squad rebuild for the next few seasons purposefully aiming for #5.

I used to do the MVP/HOF training route, but I found that it's not worth it unless you are able to train them to massive salaries (well over 100k). Because I don't really want to support a salary that high, I train stars and allstars, who cap out I believe somewhere between 40-80k. They're much cheaper too. Instead of spending 400k on a HOF prospect, I can get an allstar for 10k that I can train up to a solid starter over 3-4 seasons. My starting PG, Zdeněk Petřek, is at a very well rounded 11k salary, and I only spent 2k to acquire him when he was 18. That's just the philosophy I've developed over time.

This is incorrect, but I agree with the rest of your post! Stars cap out at about 15-22k and Allstars cap out at about 23-38k depending on sub-levels, so they don't quite get up to that 40k+ salaries but are certainly good options for trainees. My personal opinion is that Superstars are the best trainees to grab because they can get up to 60-90k salaries and play as a starter up to D.II and be a solid backup in the NBBA, plus the Superstars don't attract as much appeal for their potential even though MVPs are not that much better. It's all a matter of opinion though and different styles work.

Also, I didn't realize how tiny your arena was. ;)

Actually, if you have an updated list on salary caps based on potential, that would be really helpful. I've been going off of the BB guide posted 5 years ago, which states this:

0 Announcer: < 6k
1 Bench warmer: < 8k
2 Role player: < 13k
3 6th man: 15-18k
4 Starter: 20-30k
5 Star: 35-50k
6 AllStar: 60-80k
7 Perennial allstar: 95-140k
8 Superstar: 140-220k
9 MVP: 215-315k
10 Hall of famer: 500k+
11 All time great: 1M+

And yes, my arena is pretty small. But keep in mind I'm just starting my third full season, compared to your 13-14 seasons. I've got a long way to go before I can build a D.III+ level arena.

That is very very outdated. If you go on the TL in this day and age you will never see any players above 400k and only a handful of players above 300k (Maybe 10-20 in the BB World).

I base my salary caps off of buzermanager:

There is a player salary tool on the site that is much more updated (although it too could use a revamp). Regardless, it is much more accurate in judging player salaries and salary caps for potential, so you can play around with it if you want. I'll do a rough estimation based on the calculator since I have time, and it is still not perfect, but It's much lower than the BB guide from 5 years ago.

You're doing a good job expanding early then! It's super nice when you are done with your arena and don't have to worry about it any more and just just focus on getting players for your team, so keep up the good work!

IF THIS HELPS:
My rough estimations for salary caps-

Announcer: <2k
Bench Warmer: 2-4k
Role Player: 4-6k
6th man: 6-9k
Starter: 9-15k
Star: 15-22k
AllStar: 22-39k
Perennial allstar: 40-59k
Superstar: 60-89k
MVP: 90-159k
Hall of Famer: 160-249k
All time great: 250k+

This is based on off the player salary simulator and it hasn't taken into account the changes for SBing cost and the few other changes so it is a little off, but that is the general consensus for the caps right now.

Your friendly neighborhood IV.2 bot watch:

The South Bend Sharks have not logged on for over a month. Doesn't look like they will be lasting much longer.

The Mitsubishi Red Devils have not logged on for a week. I don't think it is anything to worry about too much, but I'll be keeping a close eye on their activity.

Everyone else has logged on within the last few days and are active and well. Go team!
