Well, you do have a bunch of backups. 7 is a bit too low but as long as your reserves play some minutes too it shuld be fine.

Not necessarily. That also depends on your bench and whether you have a good enough backup for that player for your starters to take a rest.

I think you should play man-to-man. (I'll explain why below.) and if i were you i would play low post. The only 2 defenses he has played so far this season have been man-to-man and 3-2 zone. When he has played man to man his perimeter defense has had a higher rating than his inside defense.

One side note, you may not even face his big guy. He didnt play him in the last cup game. There could be 2 explanations. 1 is that he was so sure of the victory that he didnt play him. 2 which is The one i believe is that he is watching his big guys game shape. If that is the case he has started him in 2 games already so again there might be a chance the big guy doesnt play. Which is why i would play man to man. You are better with every player except that big guy so if he doesnt play your superior players should be able to shut them down, and your big guys should have a hey day playing low post.

Either way to be perfectly honest if you crunch time him at home you should win this game. Plus you have another home game in your next league game that you can tie and recoup some enthusiasm. I say you go for it.

As far as FCP press goes, i believe unless all your team has above average OD for their respective positions it is the worst possible tactic to play! Your guards are better but not that much better so i would think that FCP would hurt you.

I forgot to mention that, and I did notice it already. Considering he currently has a game shape of 8, the guy clearly manages his players minutes. He already played 77 minutes this week, more than that would be overkill...

You guys tempted me, crunch time it is. Just one question: why low post and not look inside? I'm aware of the differences, just curious to know why you chose the first.

its a slower offense and just in case he plays the big guy a slower offense gives "worse" teams a better chance according to the game manual. Here is the quote..

A slower pace will often result in higher-quality shots, but occasionally will result in bad shots at the end of the shot clock. Fewer possessions in the game also means that scores will be lower, which means that bad teams can stay closer to good ones

Thats why, its just a safer option in case he plays the big guy.

I'm glad to see you've been swarmed with offers of advice :P. I definitely enjoy the discussion part of this game as well. As for the necessary stamina to play FCP I can't really help you. I've never used it, but it backfired against all opponents that used against me (there weren't that many of them though :P). But 7 is a decent level, I wish my average was 7!

The slower pace may help you keep the game closer, reducing the number of possessions. For what it's worth, I would also use Crunch Time if I were in your position. Despite the difference in ranking his team doesn't have that much over yours, and you're playing at home. There's a chance he'll overlook the game and throw a weak lineup, or take-it-easy, and if you get that 24k PF in foul trouble than I would start counting my chickens :P

A team that has bad efficiency (passing, handling, offensive flow and turn the ball over a lot) should try a fast pace offensive. The longer you hold onto the ball the more change the defense has to pick off a pass or pick your pocket (steal). A fast offensive shoots the ball early which means they pass the ball less and don't hold onto it resulting in less TO and more shoots at the baskets (although the shoots will be rushed a little and results in lower %).

i am not a pro but isnt it best to play a fast paced offence like r&g or push if your team is good shooters but bad passers and a slower paced one like motion or low post if you are bad shooters but good passers?
