Hope this idea will be a new BB feature next season or soon.

Maybe in the first season, this will become an option for supporters, so give it a try and give an honour to old players as scouts for BB teams.

After that, BB could review and implement this feature to all BB managers, so old players will become scout, doctor, trainer or PR manager.

I like this thread. I play other games and it's fun to keep the old ones longer than they're useful.

If the scout concept doesn't roll, what about this:

An oldie can be retired, but stay on as an advisor. I'm thinking a PR advisor, which has minimal cost, and a tiny gate benefit. The advisor can be paid according to a formula that is based off experience. The gate boost can be a fixed amount of some kind. It should be a small benefit. Both of these could be linked to the players highest ever rating/tournament wins etc.

If more theme is needed, you could make it compulsory for the retiree to be a hall of fame member (for your team?).

Yes I get that.
I'm suggesting a minimal payment, a few dollars a week, and a minimal gate boost that slightly outweighs the payment.
Or even forget the payment and just give the gate boost.
Basically something that every team would want, albeit minimal.

Yes, I'd also second that. It shouldn't be something that everyone would want to have because you gain an advantage. It should be just for those people that don't want to fire their old players and keep them around for sentimental reasons

How about having a coaching staff of older players? It will give a face to the 'Let coach decide' option in set lineup. Make it so they don't have a salary and for all intent and purposes are just for show.

However it would be cool if they had a speciality or personality trait. Things such as ruthless (try to run up the score) or nice guy (tries to give all players game time) as long as they don't have a meaningful impact to matches. If this were the case then you can have like 3 members of a coaching team (supporters can have more) and you choose one to be head coach therefore using the head coach's speciality in the match.
