Wait.. the tournament starts today?? haha I was thinking it was a pre-tournament scrimmage. LOL BTW we almost got them if we hadn't missed that GDP.

Hey it's not a matter of gdp missed because to avoid our gdp they had to use a weaker tactic. If they used a ptb or especially a look inside our prediction would have been clinched but they would have been ahead of us at least taking a look at their rating. And speaking of ratings this match should have been ours. Our matchups are better, Rios almost single handedly destroyed them but fuck.
Last minutes 0/4 from the free throw line by two strong like Bernal and Salinas. Two three from them against our best defender Salinas. No fucking way.
My only regret is not to have set the prediction for focus too. We were discussing on balanced since my thoughts were for them to choose ptb. But in case of look inside they would have destroyed us and we needed to keep an eye on dp also.
I am really sad since yesterday, I have to confess. This match was in our hand. We would have done a huge upset and even if it confirms how we are growing I cannot feel myself happy.
And my pc broke.

Well there's no point trying to change it after the game is over, we gave them what we think we are capable of and we know how to make adjustments next time. I don't think many expected us to take them to overtime so that's something we should be happy about at least. The FT situation is something that can be random at times, I have a guard with FT 9 and one season he shoots 78% from the line then shoots 67% the following season. LOL Let's prepare for Italy next. :)

Well most of the people maybe think that Philippines can't beat usa or Italy. We are talking about the 2nd and 4th in u21 world ranking. But I believe. I believe we should focus on this and so I am really angry because of yesterday's match.
I want to give you the world taste because we all are doing a huge Job here. You and my staff, all the managers in Philippines, all the managers abroad with a Filipino. And me too.
And I am not satisfy to say ok we carried the 2nd best team in the world to the overtime. I am pissed because this match should have been ours.
That doesn't change a thing. Indeed πŸ˜‚

Just basing on history of the Philippines team playing in 2nd chance qualifiers I do not think we ever have won to advance to the worlds. The only way we got to the worlds was placing 1st or 2nd in the Asian Championships (which nowadays is really hard). Not saying its impossible. Its just that European and American teams are really good. There is nothing to be ashamed off.

My suggestion is change the way teams train their U21 players. The previous U21 managers wouldn't accept/discouraged mono skilled players which for me isn't bad for U21 setting. While it will be bad for our national team imho U21 can use players with very high primary skills even tho their secondaries are so so. That is based on the U21 players we used to have many seasons ago.

I do not know if its still an issue nowadays before team owners were afraid of high salary so they don't want to train primary skills that high also.

If you are here for the long run next season should be better. At least you can now start to use the new players you helped train which will fit to your style of play. Good luck!

Hey thanks for your advice. If you notice salaries are way higher this season than the last one. Because of your same idea, having more primaries.
Rios is a beast, but also the others are really nice. As I said we are growing and my goal is Asia championship with this season 18yo players. Next season it will be hard because we completely lack of big men except gavadan which is in u21 right now too.
You are right, I see many players trained on one on one sf pf, which is good but when the time comes they are multiskilled but less effective than world best teams because of low primaries.
This is something I am working on, now managers are focusing more on single role training and primaries. And I hope to get reward in the future rosters πŸ˜‚
BTW we carried usa to the overtime in a game we should have won. I hope the game entertained you all a bit. To see something good in a loss.
